Formulated for skin tolerant to retinol treatments, it stimulates collagen production and enhances faster cell renewal to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Algae extract ensures skin is soft, hydrated and protected against free-radical damage.

Apply a single pump to face in the evening. If you have never used a retinol product before, begin by limiting use to twice a week, gradually increasing frequency to every other night, and then advancing to each evening or as tolerated. Mild redness, peeling and irritation is expected when using this product. Use daily sun protection with SPF 20 or higher during use of this product. Avoid getting in eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with water.

.5 retinol skin medica
So it is my first time trying retinol and wanted to start with .5. I applied and then followed by a good moisturizer at night. Not sure what to expect but the next day in the morning my skin was just a little red. Cheeks and my nose just a little. So I will apply every 3 days to begin but I think it is working starting slowly and working my way up. I hear great things about retinol and I am using as prevention. I also have other skin medica products and love it.

Great way to start retinol
I went to the dermatologist and they told me to start at this level. I love that I was able to get this at discount and had mild irritation of redness and peeling but I used a physical exfoliant daily and cut out acids for now. I only do my acids on the weekend and this on the weekdays.

Great for face, hard on neck
I love this for my face, and can really see the difference it makes. My neck though is much more sensitive to it, and I find that if I overdo the application at all, my neck gets red, flaky, and itchy. I have to do a very thin layer only and then it's OK. Fabulous results on my face though!

Great Retinol
I have used other retinol products before but this one works- and fast! I started using once every 3 days and after the second time it was like I had received a chemical peel. My skin peeled a tiny bit, but then it was so glowy and smooth. Some of the blemishes I had on the edge of my cheeks have cleared up beautifully and my skin looks so nice and free of any fine lines.

The ONLY thing that works!
First of all, I spent way too much money chasing the wrinkle eraser answer. I finally just asked my dermatologist and he said that retinol is the only product in the market that will give you LONG term results. Naturally he was right. I admit I started too late - at the age of 53 I finally decided it was time to do something about my aging skin. Though I'm not too wrinkly, I do have some serious marked lines that need to go away. So the first thing you need to know is that for this product to really work, you're going to need to 1) BE PATIENT - it can take up to 6 months to really see results and 2) BE DILIGENT. These are two things I am NOT. But going on faith of my good doctor, I made the purchase, tossed out all the other age defying potions and went to work. A month in, I already see the lines above my eye lids disappering. Those were the MOST recent ones that showed up. Please note I had been using an over the counter retinol product diligently for months and saw NO RESULTS. A few things you should know going in. This product warns, and it will cause flaking and peeling. You will need to use lots of lotion to keep the skin hydrated. During the day I was getting some peeling so reapply a few times a day using a SPF lotion, and at night I use coconut oil. I do apply the product about 30 minutes before bed time. I wash my face, dry it and then using just ONE pump, I spread the lotion all over my face, focusing on the problem areas first and heavier. I wish I'd started using this product earlier. The recommendation is to start using it to keep wrinkles at bay. This is to say, the sooner you start using it, the less wrinkling you will have as you age. If I had access to this in my early 30's I would look pretty darn great right now!

I bought this product after my dermatologist recommended it, and it has been working great. For me, it does feel a bit thick though, so I find that I end up using this alone at night without any moisturizer on top. I have oily skin and in the mornings it doesn't feel like my skin is dried out. My skin feels and looks smoother and even toned. I was a bit careful working this in to my daily routine by starting off once every three days and eventually to every night, but I think it's so gentle that it wouldn't be too much for an experienced retinol user. It's much gentler than my retin-a micro which I could barely tolerate once a week.

I am seeing results, but this is strong.
I decided to try this after my PTR retinol fushion supply was dwindling. I saw some line fading with PTR, but not as much I hoped. I feel like PTR is good maintenance/prevention for more youthful skin. I am 40 y/o with some sun damage, so I wanted to up the ante. I figured that since I had no issues with PTR retinol that I could start at the .5 strength. I was wrong! This stuff is strong! The good news is that I can see it working. Some of the fine lines around my eyes are starting to fade a bit. But, I am having true retinol side effects-red blotchy skin, some discoloration patches, peeling, itching, dryness. It's manageable, but it is clear that this retinol is strong. I am so happy with the results, however, I have ordered the .25 and plan on building up my strength, because really, I am seeing results. Skin is tighter and smoother.
