Tip: Shades match and can be used with dpHUE Gloss+ and dpHUE Color Touch Up Spray. If between two colors, choose the lighter shade. For resistant grays, process for an additional 5-15 minutes.
Put on gloves. Squeeze a ½ tube of hair color into a disposable bowl. Tightly screw the cap back on and save for next use. Add 1 packet of developer color activator to the bowl and mix thoroughly using the applicator brush. Apply the mixture to your noticeable gray areas, usually the hairline and part line. Apply the product generously. Use the tip end of the applicator brush to part the hair in ¼”- ½” sections and continue to apply until the desired areas are completely saturated. Put the processing cap on and set a timer for 45 minutes. Keep the color on an additional 5-15 minutes for resistant gray hair. Using lukewarm water, rinse out color until water runs clear and follow with dpHUE Color Fresh Shampoo and Conditioner.

Not good coverage
Been having to resort to coloring my own hair while salons are closed in California. I tried Madison Reed twice and was pleased. Decided to try Hue and was disappointed from the start. I felt like there was not enough product to cover my roots. The conditioner did not leave my hair soft. When I finally looked at the results, my grays are now strawberry blonde. The hair color I bought was Dark Brown. Looks like I will be buying some drug store box color this weekend.

Covers my resistant gray
It covers my gray roots if I leave it on long enough - I have to use all the additional time that is suggested to get good coverage. The color stays rich looking and doesn't fade when I've timed it right. Before Covid I was in the chair every 4 weeks for color and I haven't been to the salon for color since the pandemic started. I'll probably start going for highlights every now and then, but I'll do my own root color from now on! The only downside of this product is there's not quite enough for me to get 2 applications because I like to cover the roots in back and all over. There are more cost effective ways to do this, but I experimented with other things that didn't work, so I'm sticking with this for now. Sure beats paying salon prices for color, it's easy to use, and it works!

Fantastic root cover up!
I do love this product, it has saved me many times. A couple of years ago, I moved four hours away from my hair stylist of 20 years. She is the best and I didn't want anyone else to cut and color my hair. There have been a few times where there was and extra month or so until I could get to see her, especially with the pandemic. So, I tried the dpHue. I have med-light brown hair with many grey hairs, including a good streak in the front. I have used one of the applications for an extra month between appointments, last month, I used both of them for an extra two months. Both applications turned out great! I do leave it on for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to soak into the grays and I also hit it with a hair dryer for 5 minutes or so 3 times during that period. The strawberry blends well with my color.

I started coloring my hair during pandemic. This product is gentle, easy to use and does the job. The description is not accurate though: it says that it is enough for two applications, it is barely enough for one. The product is expensive.

OKAY ROOT COVERAGE
I have some stubborn gray hair - which already had color on it and with COVID, I couldn't get to the Beaty parlor. So I used this. It is very complete and easy to use. I left the first application (there are two to a kit) on for 40 minutes and it was NOT enough. I did medium brown (I have dark hair) and it was actually too light. I lasted a good while, too, by the way. My hair was in good shape when blow dried, it looked healthy and shiny. I would recommend this root touch up. There are others that are easier to use, but this is pretty labor intensive, and works well. The second application I did for an hour 10 minutes and it has lasted for 3-4 weeks with shampooing in between every 4 days or so. . . .

Left my hair really dry!
Covers gray hair well but it left my curly hair really dry. I had to use a deep conditioner for a couple of days to get my curls bouncy again. Other than this, the kit was easy to use and covered my grays for at least 3 weeks. For reference, I have dark brown/black hair and I purchased the kit for black hair, the color was spot on, looked natural. I gave it four starts because it did the job, just left my hair dry.

So for a first time go at coloring my hair at home I could not be happier. I'm a fan of the brand, and thought I would try the touch up kit to cover some stubborn stray grays. It did a far better job than your typical box coloring kit. Healthy, shiny coverage even for stubborn gray roots. I don't have a thick band of gray so I can only speak to its ability for stray gray hairs around the hairline and part.

Good grey coverage
Since March, I have started dying my roots to avoid going to beauty salon. dpHue does a great job covering my resistant greys. The dye must sit for 1hour to provide good coverage, 45 minutes of sit time does not work! The dye covers well for 3 weeks with color protective product use and daily hair washing. The color is true Medium brown and never has the drug store "Auburn" look. I receive lots of compliments from coworkers & friends that my hair never looks died!
