Dermalogica Precleanse is just what you need to wash away makeup, oil and dirt from your skin. This plant-based cleansing oil thoroughly melts layers of excess sebum, sunscreen, waterproof makeup, environmental pollutants and residual skin products that build up during the day. Formulated with conditioning Rice Bran and vitamin E oils, this gentle blend can be used around the eye area to remove even waterproof mascara. Offers a deep cleansing ideal even for the oiliest skin conditions.

I'll admit, at night when I'm half asleep and I'm being lazy the last thing I want to do it thoroughly wash off all my makeup. But this product is so quick and easy to use, and so thorough, i never miss a beat using it after a long day of heavy makeup wearing. Great discovery

Sounded useless, but...
I put off adding a precleanse to my routine for the longest time, because it just sounded like a marketing gimmick to sell an additional product. Not true - once I tried it, I was quickly hooked. Gets rid of makeup and sunscreen so the cleanser can do a better job. Nice texture and wonderful scent. There's lots of info on the internet about using coconut oil as an inexpensive but effective precleanse. That might work for some people, but after trying it for the 1st time I woke up the next morning with the mother of all breakouts, even though I have dry skin that's not especially sensitive. This product is definitely the way to go if you want o add a precleanser to your routine.

My face does not feel the same if I skip this step! I must use this stuff first when washing my face. Some may think, I already have an oily face, why should I put more oil on it? Well let me tell you, I was skeptical at first too. This is good oil for your skin. It helps to rub off your make up, kind of like an eye make up remover removes your eye make up. That way when you do apply your cleanser your cleanser can actually cleanser your face and not just wipe off make up. It also leaves my face feeling so soft!! When I do not use this and skip this step, my face is so dry and stiff after washing. But when using this, my face still feels clean but more smooth and youthful, almost glowing!

I'm in love and I hate that I am. This is the FIRST product I have ever used that actually removed ALL of my makeup and did not require harsh scrubbing and dried out skin. When the bottle first arrived I almost instantly returned it, without even trying it, because it was so small for the price. I ended up trying it and falling in love with it. Now I actually look forward to washing my face. I love the smell (reminds me of Aveda products) and the way it cleans my skin. Now I did not get, nor have I tried, the cleansing products. All I use is the precleanse and it seems to work just fine. My skin looks incredible. The hate part is the price. A lot of money for such a small bottle.

This is an excellent pre cleanser. It will removed eye makeup and face makeup. However, you will want to follow with a toner or secondary wash as it doesn't get everything off. Smells wonderful!!

Been using for years!
Cleansing your face with something oil based seemed like a no-no to me at first since I have acne prone (but not oily) skin. To my surprise, this cleanser is amazing! I don't wear much makeup, but it is awesome for removing it when I do, and my daily sunscreen. I always follow it up with a gentle cleanser leaving my skin REALLY clean. Frangrance is mild. You don't need much product to get the job done which is nice since the price of this product has been going up quite a bit over the years. Packaging has improved over the years - glad to see it comes in a pump now for more control over how much product you dispense. Dermalogica changed the top from a screw off to a flip top since I started using it was an improvement, but the pump is best. All in all, this is an awesome product, but I am starting to see cheaper Japanese versions more available here in the US which I might give a try.
