A good option if you don't have access to Olaplex 2.
The salon Olaplex 2 is a litte stronger in the active ingredient that repairs the hair than this one, but this one is a good option if you don't have access to Olaplex 2. However, if you can get Olaplex 2 it's often in a larger bottle at a lower cost per ounce. Wash your hair (I like to use Olaplex Clarifying, sometimes after the Olaplex Cheleating Treatment used before it), towel dry it and then apply as directed. I like to use a foil cap over a plastic cap for more warmth during treatment. Rinse as directed and consider following with a mask for moisture. This is not a mask, it's a treatment. I like Olaplex's mask (pro or regular version) or the Moroccanoil Weightless mask. If you like Olaplex, consider alternating (dont' use the same day or together) Redken Acidic Bonding treatment pre-shampoo treatment. It also helps the hair and works in a different way. L'Oreal has a similar drugstore pre-shampoo acidic treatment that's very similar.

Olaplex #3 good to strengthen dry hair
Olaplex #3 is a helpful once-weekly product to spread on damp hair for strengthening it. I color my hair every five- to - six weeks to cover some grey. Directions say to leave on Olaplex for at least 10 minutes. I wait 90 minutes before rinsing & then washing & conditioning my hair. My thick, wavy hair requires a lot of product. Olaplex typically comes in a 3.3 ozs bottle & is expensive. I continue to use it, as my hair looks healthier when I do.
