Standard Base Coat

I don’t know that there is anything particularly special to note about this product. It works just fine, but is a tad pricey for what it is in comparison to other options.

Perfect Base Coat

I love this brand & this base coat is great! I use it alone on occasion for a clean manicure but works perfectly to help protect your nails when using their great colors on top.

Terrible

Made the polish peel off every nail within hours.

Terrible Product

This product is not worth it at all. Every nail peeled completely in perfect nail-shaped sheets within hours. This brand's polishes work better without this "base coat".

disappointed

When the product arrived the color bore almost no resemblance to the manufacturer's picture representation of that color. It was so far off I thought I was ordering a "rusty" orange/red and when it came it was a creamy, drab pink. Actually had to check the color label to be certain it was the correct color. For $18 I feel the manufacturer could have provided a more accurate likeness of the color to Dermstore. I contacted the mfr via e-mail and it took them almost 2 weeks to respond.

Its an ok product

Its a clear polish and I wanted to point that out just in case you think its pink as the picture seems to indicate. I tried the product by itself and that very day it had chipped. I used it as the first coat on my toenails and its working fine. The real test is my fingernails but I havent had the time to try there. The appeal of the product is its promise of not having ingredients that are bad for you

Brand confirmed formula issue

Smith & Cult polishes do not need a base and top coat! I purchased directly from Smith & Cult so I can confirm from them that there is a formulation issue with the base coat that they know about. It peels and chips really bad but they keep selling the product for some reason. Older bottles are okay, but then they tried to reformulate it. The nail polishes used by themselves work great and last a long time.

Website needs updating

The website needs to be updated to indicate that this base is now clear, not tinted pink as indicated. Confirmed on the brands web page that this is clear. Haven't tried the base yet but was surprised how heavy the top of the polish bottle is. Another negative.

Not as described/shown

I was shipped a clear base coat labeled Basis of Everything. It started chipping almost immediately. In short, it isn't the product listed here.

Beautiful polish

Beautiful color (as are all Smith and Cult polishes!) and wonderful pay off. Lasts with minimal chipping for a whole week!
