Slip pure silk pillowcases are of the highest quality so they are machine washable, but they are still silk and need as much care as we can give them. Always use a pH neutral detergent and/or fabric softener. Silk is a natural fiber and washing in a solution that's too acidic or alkaline can cause the silk to harden in a single wash. If you can't find a detergent that specifies pH level, opt for one that specifies silk. If your machine doesn't specify exact heat settings, wash on either cold or just one level above cold. If you wish to maximize the life of your pillowcase, hand-washing is the ultimate method.

Traditional pillowcases don't slip, causing damage to hair and delicate facial skin. Slipsilk™ allows your skin to glide, whereas cotton scratches and tugs on delicate facial skin, resulting in premature stretching and sleep-crease. Cotton also dries out your skin and hair. Gentle on hair and skin
Getting a silk eye mask felt a bit over the top for me, but I have struggled to find one that won't break my eyelashes and doesn't have a velcro strap. The silk does feel comfortable and smooth against your skin and hair, resulting in no tugging of the hair on my head or breaking of my eyelashes. I bought the caramel color, which doesn't block out as much light as a darker color one would have (something I didn't think about at the time of purchase), but it still gets the job done and does a good job of preventing light from sneaking in at the bottom of the mask (around the nose). My one complaint at this point is the lack of an adjustable strap (which I knew when I purchased it but felt desperate for an eye mask) - I feel like it would not have been hard to do one that did not involve velcro (think of something similar to the adjustable piece on bra straps, for instance). When it loses elasticity, I'll just pull out the trust safety pin then. I know some people have complained that the softness was gone after they hand washed it, but I haven't washed it yet, so I can't comment on that. From looking around online, I wonder if a white vinegar rinse (diluted in water) would help? Otherwise, I was going to try to e-mail the company directly for specific detergent recommendations since someone said they even used The Laundress and still had problems (and I consider them holy grail).

Lovely mask
This is a lovely product. I love how smooth, and silky it is. The color isn't my favorite, but I'm wearing it at night or during travel so that doesn't really matter. I am a huge fan :)

There are a lot of wonderful things to say about this sleep mask, but the most important is that it gives me a comfortable night's (or nap's) rest. Other masks which sit on the eyelids bother me, but not this one. Same with the elastic around the back. I bought two-one for home and one for travel, and never sleep without it. And, as a bonus, it washes well. I can't recommend this sleep mask more highly.

Amazing sleep mask
Got the most amazing night sleep with this mask, feels amazing on the skin and immediately makes you want to sleep. I also notice the skin around my eyes feel very smooth when i wake up so I'm convinced it doesn't absorb my skincare. Only slight problem is the band sometimes presses against the top of my ears if i put the mask on over my hair. But this isn't a huge deal at all. I put it under my hair and this allows the band to place over the ear more comfortably and actually blocks more light.
