Slip pure silk pillowcases are of the highest quality so they are machine washable, but they are still silk and need as much care as we can give them. Always use a pH neutral detergent and/or fabric softener. Silk is a natural fiber and washing in a solution that's too acidic or alkaline can cause the silk to harden in a single wash. If you can't find a detergent that specifies pH level, opt for one that specifies silk. If your machine doesn't specify exact heat settings, wash on either cold or just one level above cold. If you wish to maximize the life of your pillowcase, hand washing is the ultimate method.

WHY SLEEP ON SLIPSILK™ PILLOWCASE INSTEAD OF COTTON OR SATIN?
Traditional pillowcases don't slip, causing damage to hair and delicate facial skin. Slipsilk™ allows your skin to glide, whereas cotton scratches and tugs on delicate facial skin, resulting in premature stretching and sleep-crease. Cotton also dries out your skin and hair. It even twists your hair at the root as you sleep, which causes bed head in the short term and can damage your hair in the long term. Synthetic satin is a poor petroleum based substitute for real silk.
WHY SLIP? ARENT ALL SILK PILLOWCASES THE SAME? All silk pillowcases are not created equal. Watch out for toxic dyes and false claims of momme (fabric weight/thickness). Some silk pillowcases don't even have a charmeuse finish, so they feel more like a thin, rough parachute material. Very strong, but without the health and beauty benefits.

Worth the Money
I was skeptical that a pillow case would make a difference in my hair and/or skin health. I now believe all the reviews! My hair started really falling out, due to coloring/bleaching it, but this pillow case seems to have slowed the breakage and hair loss. Plus it feels so nice! My whole family tries to steal this pillow!

Absolutely necessary
I've been using these pillow cases for years. I've purchased satin versions and cheaper silk versions, but nothing compared to the Slip cases. They last longer and they're so soft. Worth every penny
I put off buying this pillowcase because I didn't think it could be worth the price...I was so wrong! I have fine, long hair that is usually on the dry side. This magic pillowcase keeps my hair feeling silky and smooth. I try to sleep only on my back to avoid wrinkles but if I ever end up on my side this pillowcase feels so soft. This + my Sferra pillow is like sleeping on a cloud. Worth every penny! I never wanted to be without it so I bought a second. It really is that good.

Terrific addition to my skin/haircare
Yes this really works to keep my hair smooth and to ease the toll sleeping takes on my face. I had tried a cheaper version that claimed to be silk yet felt more like cotton. This is slippery, smooth, cool and something I truly do not want to be without. It is beautifully made, easy to wash and I hang mine to dry. Love it so much.

Stop hesitating and buy now!
I have fine hair and suffer from major breakage. I had tried buying cheaper pillowcase alternatives off Amazon as many people suggested I do instead of spending the money on this and the pillowcases were uncomfortable or very slippery (if that makes sense) and I never ended up using them. I have had this pillowcase for 1 week and it is AMAZING. I wish I would have bought it sooner! Not only is it very comfortable to sleep on and doesn't slip off your bed but I wake up with my hair feeling hydrated without all the moisture sucked out.
