SkinMedica's Age Defense Retinol Complex 1.0 enhances the skin's appearance to promote a smoother, rejuvenated complexion. Formulated for skin types pre-conditioned to retinol treatments, it minimizes the appearance of age spots and wrinkles. It also improves elasticity and works effectively to visibly reduce acne scars. With continued use, faster cell renewal is encouraged.

Apply a single pump to face in the evening. If you have never used a retinol product before, begin by limiting use to twice a week, gradually increasing frequency to every other night, and then advancing to each evening or as tolerated. Mild redness, peeling and irritation is expected when using this product. Use daily sun protection with SPF 20 or higher during use of this product. Avoid getting in eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with water.

Works well. I can tell it's much stronger than the 0.5 and 0.25 strengths because of the tingle, skin turnover, etc. subtracted one star because it concerns me the lotion yellows a bit which leads me to believe that oxidation in the pump may occur. Other than that this is amazing and I use it every other day now that my skin is conditioned to retinols.

Best Retinol product I've used
I'm 33 yo and have been into taking care of my skin and just skin care I'm general since my teens. I've been trying to find a new Retinol serum after finishing my Sunday Riley A Retinol serum. After doing some research, all the positive reviews, the before and afters I ordered the 1.0. I know that you can experience some dryness and irritation, but that hasn't happened to me with any non prescription Retinol. So After the first night I was surprised to wake with some dry spots and peeling skin, it wasn't irritated or anything to me it just meant it works. I am a skincare addict but I also do lots of research on every kind of product available today, none more important in my opinion to our skin renewal than retinol. However, you should always begin a retinol regimen with a level recommended by your dermatologist and gradually work your skin up to being able to tolerate a stronger product so you don't overwhelm your skin and cause major peeling and irritation. Faster is not necessarily better and it can actually damage your face. I began with the .05% SkinMedica Retinol and used that for a full year before I switched to the 1% and I have fairly hardy, combination, not sensitive skin. I Understand Why My Dermo Recommended This!

Best Anti Aging Product
This is my third bottle of this stuff. I'm breakout prone and this has worked so well at healing and eliminating my breakouts I no longer use Proactiv. The anti againg benefits of it is also amazing. Just be sure to use sunscreen, and wear a hat even in winter! And moisturizer, moisturizer, moisturizer after applying it.
