SkinMedica's Age Defense Retinol Complex 1.0 enhances the skin's appearance to promote a smoother, rejuvenated complexion. Formulated for skin types pre-conditioned to retinol treatments, it minimizes the appearance of age spots and wrinkles. It also improves elasticity and works effectively to visibly reduce acne scars. With continued use, faster cell renewal is encouraged.

Apply a single pump to face in the evening. If you have never used a retinol product before, begin by limiting use to twice a week, gradually increasing frequency to every other night, and then advancing to each evening or as tolerated. Mild redness, peeling and irritation is expected when using this product. Use daily sun protection with SPF 20 or higher during use of this product. Avoid getting in eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with water.

Only retinol that really truly works!

Reasonable price and works well
I am 37 years old with semi-sensitive skin. I have jumped around on different Retinol night creams. They are either so strong I am still peeling during the day (gross), not strong enough, or leave a gross or bad smell on my face. SkinMedica is nicely textured, doesn't have a bad smell and any initial product scent goes away within a few minutes of application. It blends well with my other non-SkinMedica face products as well as other SkinMedica products (I use other SkinMedica products targeting dark spots bc I didn't wear a sun hat in my 20's like my mom told me to). I will have light peeling, but a face wash in the morning clears all the dead skin (I rotate an exfoliating wash, enzyme powder, and regular face wash during the week). I also find Allergan products generally go on sale more often and/ or earn bonus points where as say Skinceuticals never seems to be at a sale price you would really consider a "sale." I have recommended the product to girlfriends (different ages and skin types) and they have all switched over.

I've tried five or six of the Retinol 1.0 products available at the Dermstore. This SkinMedica Age Defense Retinol Complex is the one I keep coming back to, simply because it is the best. It is less irritating than competing brands, and it absorbs well, with no shiny, greasy "product film" left on my face. It is a strong Retinol and it changed my life. No more large pores ,no more breakouts. There has never been a product which has done this for me before.
