SkinMedica's Age Defense Retinol Complex .25 is formulated to renew the skin's tone and texture without irritating the skin. Retinol helps combat the signs of premature aging while magnolia bark extract soothes inflammation. Ideal for use twice a week to build tolerance to formula.

Apply in the evening after cleansing and toning and before applying your moisturizer. If a retinol product has never been used before, begin twice a week 2-3 days apart, gradually increasing frequency to every other night, and then advancing to each evening or as tolerated. Apply to the entire face. Avoid getting in eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with water.
Caution: Do not use if you are pregnant, lactating or planning to become pregnant. Mild redness, peeling and irritation are expected when using this product. Use daily sun protection with SPF 30 or higher and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week following discontinuation.

Powerful Product
SkinMedica delivers with their retinol products! I love the wide variety of doses available, using the .25 I never experience any of the harsh side effects that can come with the stronger ones. I use just twice a week. I use retinol for prevention mostly though I do feel the appearance overall is smoother. This light percent perfect for my sensitive skin. I think the most important factor is consistency, you'll receive the most benefit & you really do get a bang for your buck so to say.

Excellent Retinol Treatment
I was first given this retinol treatment by my dermatologist. I repurchased from Dermstore since they have a much better price than my doctor. I used this for quite a while and got great results. This was the first retinol I used and I have since moved up to the .50 strength. I highly recommend this brand of retinol products.

Wonderful Retinol product
This was recommended by my dermatologist and it's been a great product for my skin. A small pump of the product covers my face, so you don't need a lot. I use 2-3x week to even out skin tone and keep my milia at bay. Also, doesn't irritate my sensitive skin.

Works on Sensitive Skin
I use this once a week as I have very sensitive skin and so far I have had no negative side effect. It helps with exfoliation and, hopefully, anti-aging. I will continue to use and up the use per week as my skin adjusts. I do use on my neck every other night and it keeps it smooth and soft.

First Time Retinol User - No Redness
I was worried to try this product because I know retinol can irritate your skin. As some background I once tried to use 10% Glycolic on my face and my face turned red for days and I also tried a highly rated vitamin c serum and my face was extremely sensitive and would turn red if I tried to wash my face. I have only used this product once on my skin but it did not cause any lasting irritation. My face looked a little red after using it but I have been able to wash my face and use other skin products without flaring up my skin. I washed my face and put on the Drunk Elephant C-Serum this morning without causing any redness or irritation. I will use it 2x/week to start as recommended and work my way up to using it everyday. Glad I found anti-aging retinol product that I can use without making my skin overly sensitive.

Great for sensitive skin
I have sensitive skin, but this did not cause any side effects like flakiness, irritation, or redness. I've tried using Skinceutical 0.5 retinol, but it caused irritation and flakiness and my skin never adjusted. After taking a hiatus, I decided I want to start very low. This has a very low concentration retinol so I'm not expecting it to improve my skin by much. I'm using it as a stepping stone to move up to products with higher amount of retinol. It has a good texture that's easily spread and absorbed. Not too sure about the packaging, though. My understanding was that retinol has to be in an air-tight container, but the opening of the pump is really big - too big to be considered air-tight in my opinion. It caused some mild irritation, flakiness, and dryness in the beginning, but after about 3 weeks of use, my skin has adjusted. I will use the entire bottle before moving up to 0.5. Can't wait!

This product has completely changed my skin. I have sebaceous hyperplasia that I've had difficulty getting rid of. I've tried everything-lasers, retin-A, Glycolic acid, nothing worked.
