For the most part, this stuff works! However, it does take a bit to absorb and doesn't lay on matte at all. Even more so, this product is a little difficult to find the right sunscreen for, since it does not mix well at all with other topical products.

Best serum in my regimen
I love skinceuticals and this is my favorite product by them. In terms of vitamin c serum, I started with CE Ferulic based on its stellar reviews but then was told by my med spa that it’s formulated for drier skin. So I switched to Phloretin CF for a while, which I also really liked but it has 5% less vitamin C so I was so stoked when silymarin came out. So so perfect for my combination/oily skin and still gives me that high concentration of vitamin C. I’m on my fourth or fifth bottle and Recommend 10/10!!!!

Miracle for breakouts at 60 years old!
My dermatologist believes my breakouts are hormonal. I’m not so sure… in my teens through 50’s I’ve had varying degrees of oily skin and breakouts. While I get a lot of compliments on my skin, (not many wrinkles, but really starting to sag in the jowls), I still fight clogged, large pores and breakouts here and there. SC Silymarin really clears my skin, reduces pores and refines the texture. I get bi-monthly facials and use many of the SC serums, cleansers and moisturizers. I also use the SC Retinol 1.0 twice a week.

Takes patience, but effective!
After a month of use, I am thrilled to say I am seeing a big difference to my acne-prone skin! I have been dealing with hormonal acne during all of my 20s, and finally at 32 I have found the answer. With the price, for me. I used it in the morning for about two weeks. And then moved to morning and evening. saw a difference in appearance and minimal acne just two weeks after.

Good results
I originally received a sample directly from SkinCeuticals, which lasted about two weeks, and liked the results. Ordered my first full bottle from DermStore, and I continue to like it for two reasons. First, it does help reduce, or manage, oil in my T zone, which can be out of control in the hotter months. Second, it leaves a smooth finish to the rest of my face. What I don’t see: noticeable brightness from the Vitamin C or the appearance of smaller pores in that problematic T zone, due to the salicylic acid. I’ve had better results with products that are only Vitamin C or BHA. But, this product has done such a good job with oil control, I feel as if I’ve moved from “oily skin” to combination skin. That’s a dilemma; do I now need TWO serums? In summary, I recommend Silymarin for oily skin, or skin with a tendency to breakout. For combination skin? Not too sure.
