In the evening, apply 4‐5 drops to clean dry skin, avoiding the eye area. Allow product to absorb before applying other skincare products. Limit initial use to once or twice a week, gradually increasing frequency to every other night, then every night as tolerated. Strong/effective
Used for the first time and experienced significant peeling. Suggests that the product is effective. Used a lot more moisturizer to counter. Skin looks new, clearer. Would start with using once per week if you have never used retinol.

Strong use with caution
Strong but effective. I use it every 3 days. It might be causing some breakouts, but I'm still getting my skin used to it. Has helped with the the fading the hyperpigmentation of recent acne scars.

Seems to work as good as Retin-A
Like this product and tried it because my Trenotin is a prescription. I use it with Vitamin C E Ferulic and my skin feels brighter. The first few weeks that you use the retinol my skin was more dry and sensitive but after a couple of weeks, it works well.

Must have for my nightly routine
At first it was way too strong, but then I started using it every other night for 1 week and then used it a few nights in a row and eventually nightly. Now that my skin is used to it , it doesn't over dry, my sensitive skin doesn't turn red and it actually works! This is my go to retinol and I'd choose it over a prescription retin-a any day!

Quality OTC Retinol
I moved up to the SkinCeuticals 1.0 after using Skin Medica Age Defense Retinol Complex .25. This is fairly strong so start off using sparely as your skin adjusts if you have not used a retinol before. I use this once a week right now. I do peel a little, but it is not excessive.

Good OTC Retinol
I really like this product. I used to use La-Roche Posay retinol but found it was making my acne worse. I skipped ahead to the 1.0 formula and it is very drying! My skin is extremely dry and peels like crazy, and I only use it once or twice a week. However, I have noticed that my acne heals more quickly and my hyperpigmentation has dramatically improved. I personally find this product comparable to prescription retinols I have used in the past (tretinoin). Expensive, yes, but the tube will last a long time.

Useless product
Did nothing. Cost a fortune. If you want Retina go to doc and get the real thing. Don't skimp on this

Fabulous, high quality product
Fabulous product that makes my skin noticeably smoother and softer, prevents blemishes and breakouts, and lightens/brightens my skin, including redness and discoloration from scars and age/sun spots. It's seriously AMAZING and I'd do an infomercial for it if I could :) Anyone who complains about this product causing redness, peeling, and/or sensitive skin doesn't understand the product. This is very high quality retinol, which means it's very strong and also explains the high price tag. If you're used to less expensive retinol products (ie lower concentration) or you've never used retinol before, then I highly recommend starting with Skinceuticals' 0.5% retinol instead of this1.0% product. If it's your first time using either product, start with a thin layer once per day, 2-3 times per week, and ease your way into using it every day. If it still causes redness/peeling/etc. then use it less frequently or use the 0.5% product. You're still getting benefits from it. I get tons of compliments on my skin and this retinol is a major contributor!!

High Quality Retinol
I use this product at most 2-3 times per week. I have found that if I use it more often, my skin starts peeling (not a terrible thing as this is what retinols are made to do=renew skin cells and cell turnover). I also like the packaging is this tube ensures the product stays fresh with minimal air exposure (it is a pain to get the last drop when the product starts running out, but I have my ways of getting it all out). Overall I would recommend this product however if you are new to using retinols, start out using it 1-2 times per week and work your way up until your skin adjusts. Also, remember to moisturize after applying this product.
