In the evening, apply 4‐5 drops to clean dry skin, avoiding the eye area. Allow product to absorb before applying other skincare products. Limit initial use to once or twice a week, gradually increasing frequency to every other night, then every night as tolerated. It is recommended for new users to start with a Retinol 0.3 to establish skin tolerance.
Retinol may increase photosensitivity. Always use a high-protection, broad spectrum sunscreen when using this product.
As a precaution, retinol face creams should not be used by pregnant women or women who intend to become pregnant in the near future. Though there are no reports of topical retinol having any negative effect on fetal development, always consult a physician.

Worth the money
I love SkinCeuticals as a brand so I knew this product was one I wanted to try. I love how it quickly absorbs into the skin. Increasing Retinol Percentage in my 30s
I have been using Diferin gel as a retinol for a few years. However, the percentage of retinol in that product is fairly low as I am entering my mid 30s and have been advised to increase my retinol percentage. My skin is not sensitive to retinol so I was able to use this product right away without irritation. After years of smoking and sun exposure, this is the product that will get my skin back on track after the poor choices of skincare and habits in my 20s. I will return to write another review after 6 months for updates on this product versus the Diferin gel.

Good Retinol
This is the first time for me using 1% retinol. I have used other brands of lower percentages of retinol so I felt that my skin was already preconditioned. In saying that, I still experienced a little dryness and redness, but it didn't last long, just be sure to moisturize. After I apply the retinol, I wait about 30 minutes then apply my face oil and night moisturizer. I have not seen any significant changes or improvements yet but have only been using it for less than a month. Will have patience and continue to use.

Dark Spots Be Gone! (with patience)
I love this stuff. High quality and effective. Initially made my skin dry and peely but after a suggestion from my esthetician I used a pea size amount mixed with the Skinceuticals triple lipid restore and the dryness went away. Will eventually work up to using pure 1.0 Retinol. Benefits: Brighter skin Less wrinkles (in combo with botox) Skin oil production more balanced (no longer dry in some areas and oily in others) and my favorite benefit: Faded dark spots!! This one requires patience. I started using this product in January 2020 (it is now July and I'm also on my first tube so it doesn't go fast!). This morning while applying my make up I realized three large dark spots that were resistant to many other things (chemical peels, lasers, etc) were nearly gone! Hallelujah! This has made my skin so happy. I rarely need to wear much more than a tinted moisturizer and really that is just for the SPF. (Also recommend the Skinceuticals tinted SPFs: Fantastic!) I always just wait for a coupon to come from Dermstore. Usually once a quarter or every 6 months something will arrive in the mail for a discount so time accordingly!

Compares to prescription Retin A
My dermatologist recently retired, and my Retin A prescription had run out. I thought I would try this until I found a new MD. After using this for 3 weeks, I don't Think I'll go back to prescription at all! This stuff is amazing! One caution-I thought that because my skin was used to a prescription strength retinoid, I could jump right in and use this every night. Nope. Take it slow! I had to back off to every 3rd night because I had so much peeling. Now I'm at every other night, and will wait a couple of more weeks before going back to nightly.
