Addicted to Retinol!
Dermstore asked me to review this back when I purchased it which was a few months ago but I wanted to wait until I could honestly say if it works or not. I'm 31 (Bday was two weeks ago, so it's a very fresh 31!!) and have very fair, sensitive, Irish skin. I've also never had a problem with acne, discoloration, wrinkles, etc. I've been taking care of my skin since I was 15 so I guess that has helped. My only real problems have been loss of firmness and the occasional tiny pimple. Since I've been using this I've noticed that my skin has tightened and has become even softer which I didn't think was possible. I also don't get the little pimples anymore. Was it a huge change? No, but it definitely did something. I'm going to upgrade to the 1% once I run out of this one.

So far so good
I have been using this product every two nights for about 3 weeks. I understand that retinol takes time before you see results, but I definitely have not had any negative affects such as redness or irritation due to this product. I will continue to use it and look forward to seeing results!

Immediate skin improvement
Have been using this for about 6 months. I purchased based on other product reviews. This strength got better reviews than the 1.0 that folks said was harsh. I have sensitive skin. Initially used it twice a week and the results were noticed quickly. The tone is clearer and my skin feels softer. You need to exfoliate. I cleanse with a clarisonic system that does the trick. Now using it once a week to maintain the results. Very happy.

I need more time
I've been using this retinol cream for about two months, but I don't see definitive results yet. It took my skin a few weeks to adjust even with gradual use. I peeled and had that sun burned feeling the first few times and so I really proceeded with caution. My neck was especially sensitive. I'm not breaking out, though, so I feel that if I stick with this I'll eventually see the intended result.

Excellent!
I live in HI and am exposed to damaging sun rays year-round. SC Retinol 0.5 is the perfect strength for my skincare needs- light, blends easy, non-greasy, not too harsh on my skin, and works well with my other SC products. Love!

Terrific Product!!!
Skinceuticals Retinol .5 cream is a fabulous product! This is the first retinol cream I've used. I'm thrilled with the results after only two weeks! I have a very fair complexion and combo/sensitive skin. I've always been wary of using a retinol cream, as products with harsh ingredients tend to irritate my skin, but this cream is the exception! I can already see a difference in my skin! It is brighter and smoother, the blackheads around my nose and chin are gone, and some dark dark spots have visibly lightened! I can't wait for the fine lines and wrinkles to diminish after further use! I will be using this product for life!

Great beginner to retinol
If you have never used retinol start with this. I started out using this once a week so don't be surprised if it takes you time to adjust. After you get used to this, you can move up to 1% retinol. You also need to give your skin a break from retinol so don't use it every day. I really enjoy this product and think it's one of the best retinols you can purchase. A little goes a long way as well.

Seems to be improving my skin
I've only used the product for 2-3 weeks so my knowledge is somewhat limited of the product. I know my skin felt great the next morning and looked fabulous. However, after a few days all of my other face products (excluding makeup) made my skin burn-especially around the eye area-whenever I would apply it. This never occurred prior to using a retinol cream. I'm not sure if the products were incompatible or not, but some of the other products I use are from SkinCeuticals. I initially used it every other day, but now I think I'll use it twice a week. This is my first time with a retinol product. I will also add that my hyperpigmentation seemed to dramatically improved after the first week of use. I'm giving it a four star as I really haven't had enough time to see how it really performs.

Cured my cystic acne
I'm 32 years old, light Caucasian skin tone. I've had cystic adult acne for 5 or 6 years. On top of this, I have fairly sensitive skin. I get red easily, I had some mild scarring and 'patchy' skin, texture not very good. Tired/crappy looking. and I get contact allergies relatively easily. (I'm allergic to some adhesives in band-aids for example) so I'm very fussy about what I use. In December, I decided to do my research on different (albeit more expensive) ways to correct my problem. A month or so of research led me to embark on a retinol based product exploration. I started with RoC retinol Correxion, since it's a very mild, inexpensive formulation and I wanted to ease my face into this. It had good reviews and the price point was low. After about 1.5 months, I had noticed a decrease in acne flare ups as well as 'brightening' in my skin, paired with a smoother, more refined texture. So when that tube was gone, after a little more research, I picked this retinol cream up. My cystic acne is GONE. It's gone. It's just completely gone. I never had dryness. I suspect this is because I built myself up to the higher percentage of this product with a drugstore variety first, and I really do recommend that new users do the same. I use the 0.5 retinol every single night now, and I have been taking photos every so often in my office in the morning to keep an accurate gauge. It's a huge damn difference. I can literally scroll through them and watch the pimples (as well as the redness of the previous ones) just vanishing off my face. Consistency is key. I don't wear makeup. I don't even use fancy supplement products, just CeraVe foaming cleanser and the matching daily moisturizer because it's cheap and super gentle. The Skinceuticals Retinol is the workhorse, it fixed my entire face. It goes on smooth, melts into my skin, doesn't smell, doesn't leave residue. It just does EXACTLY what it's reported to do - AND - I suspect I'll be getting slightly over 3-months of use from one ounce, so the long term cost isn't even that serious. I'm so happy with Skinceuticals I decided to try the 10 AOX + serum recently, to add a layer of prevention to my morning routine since this brand clearly knows what they're doing. 5 stars. Raving reviews.
