SkinCeuticals' Physical Fusion UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 50 not only provides broad-spectrum sun protection from both burning and aging sun rays, but it also offers a universal tint that enhances your skin tone and boosts radiance. Designed to glide on smoothly without leaving behind any oily or white residue, this lightweight formula is water-resistant for up to 40 minutes.
Key Ingredients:
- 5% Zinc Oxide (Z-Cote®): this microfine zinc oxide is a mineral filter that reflects sun rays to provide broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays. The particle size and distribution characteristics spread evenly and provide a non-whitening effect on skin.
- 6% Titanium Dioxide: microfine titanium dioxide is a mineral SPF filter that acts as a weightless reflector on skin to protect against UVA and UVB rays.
- Artemia Salina: this plankton extract helps boost skin’s natural defenses and resistance to UV- and heat-induced stress.
- Translucent Color Spheres: iron oxide spheres that act as a color-infused technology to enhance natural skin tone and boost radiance while providing a universal tint for your skin tone.
Key Benefits:
- Sheer, tinted sunscreen adapts to skin tone without a white cast
- Water-resistant for up to 40 minutes
- Boosts radiance for a more even, luminous complexion
- Helps boost skin’s natural defenses to environmental stress
- Paraben-free and fragrance-free; non-comedogenic
- Ideal for all skin types, even very sensitive skin

current favorite sunscreen
Currently my favorite sunscreen. It has a smoothing/perfecting effect on your skin + the tint, so I can get away with just wearing some concealer... so yeah, this product is a little pricey, but you save on makeup so it's win-win there! I also like that it has pretty decent UVA protection for an American sunscreen (for PHENOMENAL protection, you have to go European b/c the FDA hasn't approved the most advanced filters). Oh yeah! And it's 100% mineral (the only kind of sunscreen I wear) but largely avoids all the annoying drawbacks of mineral sunscreens! A few cons, since I'm convinced the perfect sunscreen does not exist: I feel a SLIGHT tingling on my sensitive skin when I first apply... I haven't noticed any irritation though, and I wear it everyday, so it doesn't bother me too much. I will say that I had one bottle where it felt grainy going on... not sure why, but it wasn't super pleasant to apply b/c of that. Finally, it can be a tad bit drying & shiny at the same time. I'll also note that b/c of it's super liquidy texture, it's really hard to know when you put enough on. That's not really the fault of the product though, just what you lose from the cosmetic elegance of liquid textures.

Physical Fusion UV Defense Sunscreen
Awesome tinted sunscreen. I've used it for years. My favorite thing is that I can use it in place of foundation!

My favorite sunscreen
This is an amazing and effective sunscreen. I have had very sun sensitive skin and this product protects and prevents sun damage. The universal tint blends so well and my husband uses it also as there is no whitish appearance in his facial hair that you normally get from the zinc products. It does have a thin consistency so you have to be careful when dispensing and a little goes a long way. The only negative is that there can be a little color transfer from the tint so allow it to dry thoroughly before contact with clothing.

A great summer tint w SPF
I wear this almost like a BB cream in summer. I am Caucasian, light to medium skin, cool undertone. It blends in well for me on my combination skin. It's neither drying nor moisturizing, so whatever my skin feels like when I out this on is how it feels afterward. I used this or EltaMD sunscreen, both have change my perception of sunscreen. I have sensitive skin and chemical sunscreens always stung my face. Wish they had there when I was younger! YouMUST shake the bottle before you apply, and it is not super thick. Other tip: Another sunscreen I like is Goop Unseen Sunscreen. It's the texture of a silicone primer.

Nice ingredients list, but irritating
This sunscreen has a nice ingredients list - 100% mineral sunscreen. But my face feels a little irritated in the first 15 minutes when I applied this sunscreen, which really surprised me. It offers effective protection from the UV though. So I'm neutral about this product.

Great for sensitive, acne prone and rosacea skin
I'm very fair with acne prone skin and recently developed type 2 rosacea over the last year. I didn't realize how important it was to wear sunscreen every day until I found out I had rosacea. I tried quite a few products but hated how thick it felt on my skin. This product was recommended to me from an esthetician and I am now on my second bottle. It is thinner than most sunscreens, so it applies somewhat runny but I LOVE it. On my third month of using it and no issues. Would definitely recommend !

Not my favorite
I'm an oily skinned girl and this definitely wasn't the very best texture for me. It was a little thick although it did eventually settle. The thing that was most difficult was the tint. Even though I'm bi-racial- medium skin tone with yellow undertones, the tint looked orange on me. I can't imagine how it would look on someone more fair or even someone darker. It's just orange. Or perhaps it oxidized and I haven't realized it.
