Designed for daytime use, this antioxidant serum neutralizes free radicals to prevent signs of accelerated skin aging. The blend of phloretin, pure vitamin C and Ferulic acid improve the appearance of discoloration, fine lines and uneven skin tone. Phloretin neutralizes damaging free radicals, improves cell turnover and lightens signs of discoloration. L-ascorbic acid protects your skin from oxidative stress while providing visible anti-aging benefits, while ferulic acid enhances the antioxidant benefits of phloretin and vitamin C.

Great Vitamin C serum for oily or combo/oily skin
In the past, I’d tried the other two Vitamin C serums offered by SkinCeuticals, but found neither worked well with my skin. The original was too emollient feeling and Silymarin felt too heavy, especially in warmer weather. Phloretin is the proverbial “just right.” It absorbs nicely, dries in anbout five minutes and provides a good base for my sunscreen. It has diminished a patch of melasma on my left cheek and lightened sunspots. A bonus: I haven’t noticed more spots developing. I can’t say that my skin looks brighter, but it certainly feels better in terms of being balanced and fresh. Highly recommended.

This is a tried and true staple in my routine for a few years. I like the gel form (in summer) and this liquid form in cooler months. I feel the gel lasts a bit longer, but in terms of performance, they are the same. It is non-irritating, smells like hot dog water, and does what it should.
