Dramatically Helped Hyperpigmentation

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was devastated after a chemical peel went wrong and left me with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I went to the dermatologist who said bleaching my skin was the only way to help. Being darker/deep olive tone the idea of bleaching my skin terrified me. I found this discoloration product and I’m so grateful it has significantly improved my skin with 2.5 weeks consistent use day and night. I was in tears when I thought I destroyed my skin, this truly gave me my confidence back and significantly helped with my skin. Worth every penny and avoided bleach!

Nice enough product, just not sure if it works after six months of continued use

Nice enough product, just not sure if it works after six months of continued use. This definitely does not clog pores, I was only slightly sticky. No older, layers pretty well under sunscreen and make up. Worth a try if you do not want to go for a prescription treatment.

Product definitely did not break me out, but I can’t say how much of a difference it made

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Product definitely did not break me out, but I can’t say how much of a difference it made. I always really want to like SkinCeuticals products, but sometimes they are underwhelming or straight up break me out.  I’m happy to report this product definitely did not clog my pores. The formula can be a bit sticky, but it’s lightweight enough that I learned to deal with it. The only issue is that after using two bottles over the course of many months, I was not able to detect a difference. There are enough nice ingredients in it that I felt I was doing so something nice for my skin, but I did not notice an improvement in discoloration. It’s one of the less expensive skin circle formula, so that’s some thing . As stated, the product will arrive looking fairly dark. I don’t even think it’s an oxidation issue, just how it is. I also think it’s more shelf stable than vitamin C, so it’s fine.  My major great with SkinCeuticals products is the packaging. The fairly wide mouth on the bottle and the clunky, large glass dropper is just not ideal. I would love to see the brand consider more airless pump packaging.  Considering what everything costs, I don’t think it’s too much to ask that our investment be protected. Always afraid I’m gonna tip these over when applying. Overall, perfectly fine product, just not thinking I will re-purchase a 3rd time.  If you love SkinCeuticals and are looking to brighten skin, it’s worth a try. I really can’t say that it does much for true melasma or PIH, its still worth a try though!  Note that if it does work for you at all, expect to wait at least 4 to 6 months. Consistency is key. Period after all said and done, the only thing that works for me was a prescription product. I can still say the formula is nice enough to try.

Good, but not great. Did not break me out, but no noticeable improvement detecte

I really wanted to love this, but I think it’s just ok.  The pluses for me are that it’s relatively light (though slightly sticky) odorless, definitely does not clog pores.  The minuses are the packaging-I just do not understand the mouth of these bottles and the dropper applicator. I’m always worried about spilling, and air entering the product. For what SkinCeuticals charges, you’d think they’d offer airless pump packaging.  Getting past that, I simply do not know if this really did anything for me. I understand it could take months to work, but after 6 months of daily use, I didn’t see much of a difference. When I started using prescription hydroquinone (Somewhat controversial ingredient, I know) I definitely saw improvement, but I can’t say how much this one did for me.  The ingredients in it are definitely good, it’s not the most expensive SkinCeuticals product out there, which is nice, but again-I can’t honestly say if I saw any improvement.  Melasma and discoloration really stink, so any product that can possibly help is worth a try.  You can definitely do worse than this formula, but you can also do better, imho. No adverse effects for me, but not looking to repurchase.

My skin is very stubborn, but after using this serum for about 7 months now, I finally see my hyperpigmentation is fading away. I use it day & night with retinol and the days I don’t use my vitamin C serum.

Product came much darker than depicted. And after using for a few days and putting drops in my palm before applying, my palm became stained.

I am working on my acne scars postpartum. I had bad cystic acne and my esthetician has recommended me to use the SkinCeuticals daily moisturizer along with the C E Ferulic and this discoloration defense and my face has improved 90%. My acne has almost  resolved and my scars are gradually fading. I am very happy with my results.
