Brighten and balance your skin tone with SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense, a dark spot corrector that reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation caused by sun exposure, medical procedures or acne.
Formulated with 3% Tranexamic Acid, 1% Kojic Acid, 5% Niacinamide, and 5% HEPES, the treatment targets stubborn brown patches and post-inflammatory discolouration to even the skin tone and help to minimise the appearance of future marks with continued use. In as little as two weeks, the complexion will be unified, radiant and visibly healthier-looking.
Suitable for all skin types.
Free from parabens, silicones, fragrances, gluten and hydroquinone.
Due to the concentration of Kojic acid in this formula, a shift in color is expected. This could lead to a light brown or amber color, but the formula remains effective.
Twice daily, apply three to five drops to face. For morning use, apply after a SkinCeuticals vitamin C serum and follow with a SkinCeuticals broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product. Do not use on irritated or broken skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

Really nice
I only have a sample size, but something in this product makes my skin clearer. It hasn't done much for my discoloration because I haven't had it long enough. However, it does brighten and for whatever reason it seems to prevent acne.

Nice, but low results for price
I have been using this after getting a sample in the beauty fix box. I'm not sure that its doing much, but I have not been super dedicated to applying this. For the price of a full bottle, I would recommend trying a sample first or at least waiting for a sale. I didn't have noticeable results right away although it is smoothing and somewhat redness reducing.

Noticed results right away
Tried this from the beauty fix box. I've used this three times now and I've already noticed a brightness and even tone to my skin. I followed up with Skinmedica dermal repair cream and my skin looks fantastic. I will note that I have very fair skin and do not know if this will affect some of the "brightening" that I notice compared to other users. I will be purchasing the full size.

working well so far
I have much discoloration on my shins as a result of injuries exacerbated by thin skin. I am putting the product on my shins for about two weeks now and am noticing some difference I am sure it will take a bit more time but I will be diligent applying every evening

Not sure??
I have used this product for a couple of months. I am not sure about the results. I will note that I had to go slow in introducing it into my regimen... when I tried to put it on in combination with retina-a at night, I peeled all over my face. My nurse recommended alternating nights for a while and this helped my skin to get used to it. Now that I can use it more regularly, I am not sure that I notice a big difference, however I also do not notice new brown spots. I believe I will keep using this product as I feel it is helping in keeping my skin clear. The results are definitely not dramatic though.

Works for my Post-Acne Scars
I've been using this product for over a month right now, and I think one can sense my desperation to rid myself of my hyperpigmentation by being willing to spend this much on an ounce of product...haha. I should be clear that I am using several other products for discoloration concurrently - however, I started them months before I included this in my regimen. Therefore, it is easy to determine what is has been the result of this product. Furthermore, it is my understanding that unless you're willing to get an intensive skin peel at a dermatologist's office, getting rid of hyperpigmentation is a gradual process that often involves multiple products (AHAs, BHAs, sunscreen, retinol, etc.). My pigmentation is caused by inflammation from acne and while I have made great progress lightening it, I bought this to get more over the last "hump" since I had seemed to hit a wall over the last few months. For the first two weeks of using this product everyday (twice a day), I didn't see any difference and worried that I wasted my money. However, by week 3 I began to see a lightening of some of the scars, and I was even able to stop wearing foundation. Going into my second month of using it, I am continuing to see a difference as the weeks go on. However, I think it is important to note that Skinceuticals says that they did clinical trials for 3 months (or 12 weeks), so that may mean it will take that long to get results, and I do foresee the need for a second bottle before probably by the end of month 2, so it will be an investment for some. Nonetheless, if you're comfortable spending the money, I would recommendn it.

New addition to my routine!
I found this after I decided to go hydroquinone free. I've only used it a few weeks, but so far so good! It's very gentle and a little goes a long way. I'll definitely be purchasing this again!

undecided on results
I am halfway through the bottle and haven't noticed a change. Before this was introduced I had been using C E Ferulic. Maybe that did the job Discoloration Defense is supposed to do. I am using both now (at different times) as I believe in the science of Skinceuticals. Complaint: white painted covering on bottle peels off leaving pieces of white behind.

So good, so much $$
It may be 98 dollars, but it is soooooo good on my dark spots. I wish it was less expensive, but hey, that it the process of beauty. Saves me from getting some kind of unnatural lazer treatment!
