Brighten and balance your skin tone with SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense, a dark spot corrector that reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation caused by sun exposure, medical procedures or acne.
Formulated with 3% Tranexamic Acid, 1% Kojic Acid, 5% Niacinamide, and 5% HEPES, the treatment targets stubborn brown patches and post-inflammatory discolouration to even the skin tone and help to minimise the appearance of future marks with continued use. In as little as two weeks, the complexion will be unified, radiant and visibly healthier-looking.
Suitable for all skin types.
Free from parabens, silicones, fragrances, gluten and hydroquinone.
Due to the concentration of Kojic acid in this formula, a shift in color is expected. This could lead to a light brown or amber color, but the formula remains effective.
Twice daily, apply three to five drops to face. For morning use, apply after a SkinCeuticals vitamin C serum and follow with a SkinCeuticals broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product. Do not use on irritated or broken skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

So far so good
I love SkinCeuticals products and they usually work well for me. It's still a little early to tell but I'm hoping for a dramatic improvement to my dark spots. The consistency is a tad bit oily but it does pair well with my other skincare products and it spreads very easily. I'm not a big fan of dropper bottles. I would have preferred an airless pump.

Skin looks brighter and more even
I've been using discoloration defense for about a month and I definitely see a difference. I'm in my 40s and have been dealing with hormonal acne, which left stubborn red marks. Plus my skin tone has some unevenness. I started working with a new dermatologist who recommended this. My red marks are fading, and my skin tone overall is much more even and clear. I love it!

Seeing results
I've been using it only once a day at bedtime and seeing results! Skin tone has improved and dark spots are fading away. I would recommend this product.

Discoloration Defense
I can't wait to use this product. It has sold out numerous times and I was able to find it at the Dermstore! I am such a huge fan of skinceutical products!

Trying it out
Part three of my five step night time skin care routine: still being incorporated. I love how it feels so far.

This works for PIH and scarring
I have been using SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense for 4 months now and my stubborn PIH is almost gone. This lighten my scars more than hydroquinone ever did. I use once a day with my Vit C . Its liquid texture plays nice with other serums and layers beautifully. Thankfully there is no sd alcohol or dimethicone which for the SkinCeuticals brand is a huge leap!

Good product
I am 24 and white with dark hair, dark eyebrows... this product definitely helped my skin in terms of dark spots, but not as much as was expected from their pictured examples. Thats why im giving it 4stars

Jury is still out...
I've been consistently using for a month and have not noticed a big difference in my melasma. It goes on smooth and is light under moisturizer/sunscreen. I will continue using and hope a bigger difference as time goes.

Allergic reaction to niacinamide
This caused huge, red, zit-like cysts to form all over my face. After doing some research, I finally discovered that some people have a niacinamide sensitivity, and that reactions can include cysts, blisters, flushing, burning, closed comedones, etc. If you start to have sudden skin problems after starting this, then be aware that niacinamide might be the culprit. I used almost the entire bottle - unfortunately, it took me months to figure out what was making my face explode - and I don't see any improvement in any of the old acne scars that I was trying to target. I know that these things take time, so maybe if I had been able to stay with it I would have seen more of a difference.

Hyperpigmentation solution
I have only been using this product 2 weeks, thus, I cannot yet make claims of remarkable results, however, it goes on better than anything else I have tried which is a success in and of itself, and, I have not seen any return of my melasma which was laser removed.
