Brighten and balance your skin tone with SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense, a dark spot corrector that reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation caused by sun exposure, medical procedures or acne.

Formulated with 3% Tranexamic Acid, 1% Kojic Acid, 5% Niacinamide, and 5% HEPES, the treatment targets stubborn brown patches and post-inflammatory discolouration to even the skin tone and help to minimise the appearance of future marks with continued use. In as little as two weeks, the complexion will be unified, radiant and visibly healthier-looking.

Suitable for all skin types.

Free from parabens, silicones, fragrances, gluten and hydroquinone.

Due to the concentration of Kojic acid in this formula, a shift in color is expected. This could lead to a light brown or amber color, but the formula remains effective.

Twice daily, apply three to five drops to face. For morning use, apply after a SkinCeuticals vitamin C serum and follow with a SkinCeuticals broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product. Do not use on irritated or broken skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

Great for Dark Spots

I am a medium brown skin woman and this has proven effective for my post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It was recommended by my dermatologist and I am addicted. I never allow myself to run out of it. It is effective without at all feeling harsh. It works rather quickly if you are consistent. 10/10. I use it primarily at night.

Great for melasma

I have been battling melasma for many years and had a difficult time finding something that would make a difference with my skin. I refused to use anything with hydroquinone because it is banned for use in European skincare (which makes me think there might be something wrong with it). I've been using Discoloration Defense twice a day for for several months and have seen a large improvement in my skin. I also like that fact that my acne prone skin can tolerate this without any issues.

Made me look ill

This product made me appear ghostly white and unhealthy after about two weeks of using a few drops twice a day. Yikes. I caught my reflection in the mirror and whatever the lighting was made me do a double take. I looked pale and sickly. My brown spots near my eyes might have lightened a tiny bit but it wasn't worth continuing to use and looking ill. I returned for a store credit.

Maybe slight improvement. I honestly do not use it anymore, bc I have been so happy with the results of phloretin cf gel, that I haven't really needed to use it. It prob was helping also when I used it.

I have been using it day and night. 3 drops easily covers my face unlike with some serums that dont seem to cover as much with only 3. I have only been using it for a few weeks so I have not seen much of a differnce yet but I have hope it will fade pigmentation from acne.

I love this product its on my autoship. I had tried a ton of different products to get my underarms lighten up from my teenage years of razor burn and using so many products that instead of lighting them up made them worse because they all contained hydroquinone and they burned my skin instead of bleaching it out.
