Brighten and balance your skin tone with SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense, a dark spot corrector that reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation caused by sun exposure, medical procedures or acne.
Formulated with 3% Tranexamic Acid, 1% Kojic Acid, 5% Niacinamide, and 5% HEPES, the treatment targets stubborn brown patches and post-inflammatory discolouration to even the skin tone and help to minimise the appearance of future marks with continued use. In as little as two weeks, the complexion will be unified, radiant and visibly healthier-looking.
Suitable for all skin types.
Free from parabens, silicones, fragrances, gluten and hydroquinone.
Due to the concentration of Kojic acid in this formula, a shift in color is expected. This could lead to a light brown or amber color, but the formula remains effective.
Twice daily, apply three to five drops to face. For morning use, apply after a SkinCeuticals vitamin C serum and follow with a SkinCeuticals broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product. Do not use on irritated or broken skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

great ingredients
this discoloration serum is thin like water and applies very easily. it is unscented. it leaves a very slight sheen on your face, and is a touch sticky. it is not greasy or oily. there is no irritation or stinging with this product. it really has terrific ingredients for discoloration, not too many fillers and great name recognition.

I am in my 50's and have large melasma spots on my cheeks, I started using this product a year ago, early I started seeing my spots getting lighter, but after all this time, they have not disappeared . I can see an improvement though. I am giving 4 stars because I was expecting to see them gone after a year of consistent use and the little stickiness after applying it.

Love this product
I am over 60 and have been using this product about 9 months. Instead of a chemical peel, I chose to try this product. The results are slow but definitely works. I had discoloration on the sides of my face and using this product there is certainly improvement. I use the products AM and PM. I will continue to include this in my skin routine.

Breaks me out
Let me start off by saying I LOVE SKINCEUTICALS. I have their retinol, facewash, moisturizer, eye cream, redness reducer, phyto gel, and CE ferulic but unfortunately this stuff just does. not. work. for. me. I've tried a few times to introduce it into my skin care regiment and every time it breaks me out like crazy all over my face (cheeks, jaw, chin) wheras normally I have a pretty decent complexion minus some dark spots. I've noticed the biggest difference in dark spot correction with the retinol 1.0. Slow and steady wins the race and that stuff will do it if you give it enough time. I really wanted to love but its a pass for me. :(

wish it worked better
I have a couple large patches of melasma aggravated by an IPL treatment. I'm Asian and in my 60's. almost nothing seems to lighten the problem, including retinoid treatments. This seems to lighten it slightly while using 2-3 times a day, but not at a level that would be noticeable to most people. Was hopeful due to the slight lightening early on, but it hasn't improved beyond that. Do not think I will purchase again.

I like SkinCeutical products. I use this product and the CE Ferulic. I think these products work well if used daily. I typically put them on in the morning and evening. I'm not sure how effective they are at reversing skin damage, but I do think they do a good job of preventing further wrinkles, lines, dryness, etc.
