Brighten and balance your skin tone with SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense, a dark spot corrector that reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation caused by sun exposure, medical procedures or acne.
Formulated with 3% Tranexamic Acid, 1% Kojic Acid, 5% Niacinamide, and 5% HEPES, the treatment targets stubborn brown patches and post-inflammatory discolouration to even the skin tone and help to minimise the appearance of future marks with continued use. In as little as two weeks, the complexion will be unified, radiant and visibly healthier-looking.
Suitable for all skin types.
Free from parabens, silicones, fragrances, gluten and hydroquinone.
Due to the concentration of Kojic acid in this formula, a shift in color is expected. This could lead to a light brown or amber color, but the formula remains effective.
Twice daily, apply three to five drops to face. For morning use, apply after a SkinCeuticals vitamin C serum and follow with a SkinCeuticals broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product. Do not use on irritated or broken skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

Discoloration Defense
I have been using discoloration defense for several years. There have been some times I had to stop for a few months or decided to try something else but I always find myself back to discoloration defense. It really keeps the shading of discoloration at bay. It haven’t found it to get rid of my freckles spots but more of the overall darker areas and melasma which keeps it at bay. But once I stop I see the darkness creeping back in. I use the full line of skinceuticals and really believe in the line.

Waste of money
I have light brown skin and even though I didn't expect my scar's and pigmentation to completely go away, this one did not make any difference. This was a very pricey purchase for me and I am extremely disappointed by the results. I have been using it for a good 7-8 months now and absolutely no visible improvement.

I think it is good for keeping pigment at bay, but not so much difference for treating existing pigmentation . So maybe after a good peel or ipl use this to maintain your skin, but true pigmentation probably needs something stronger.
