SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense is an advanced solution to help eliminate adult acne while addressing wrinkles, fine lines and uneven skin tone. A combination of 2% dioic acid with alpha and beta hydroxy acids prevent blemishes while diminishing hyperpigmentation and reducing wrinkles and fine lines. This targeted treatment also inhibits excess of sebum production, unclogs pores and helps prevent skin darkening from UV exposure.
Key Ingredients:
- 2% Dioic Acid: naturally derived from vegetables, this ingredient helps reduce excess sebum
- 0.3% LHA (Caproloyl Salicylic Acid): a lipo-hydroxy acid, LHA, evenly exfoliates skin, decongests pores, and refines the skin’s surface
- 1.5% Salicylic Acid: a beta-hydroxy acid refines pores and helps reduce the formation of acne
- 3.5% Glycolic Acid and 0.5% Citric Acid: these alpha-hydroxy acids work synergistically to smooth skin and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

Spot treatment
This serum helped my skin but is not a holy grail product. I would use it as more of a spot treatment on some of my blemishes and I think it helped them from getting worse as someone with oily acne prone skin. Not sure about the anti-aging claims though.

Good Product
I like this product and it wasn't too drying. I saw a decrease in clogged pores around the nose but can't say I'd call it "anti aging" per say. I would consider it a product to counter congested pores and aid in light exfoliation. I use it about 3-4 times a week. A less expensive salicylic would probably work similarly...I think other products by this brand are more remarkable.

Didn’t work for me
I desperately wanted this serum to work for me, but sadly, it didn’t work any magic. I’m a 49 YO woman who has never had much acne, but I started getting hormonal acne around my forehead, chin and jawline this year and it is devastating for my self esteem. This product burns and stings when applied. I power through anyway and it goes away. I have been using this daily for a month and my skin tends to break out every other week with no noticeable change in number or frequency of blemishes. The only difference I’ve seen is maybe that the acne heals a few days faster each breakout cycle. I can’t say that it’s from this serum though. I’ve been so desperate that I also use Naturium sulfur spot treatment on top of it to help dry up the spots. I honestly think the inexpensive sulfur treatment is more effective.

My holy grail
I was introduced to this product about 4 years ago and can’t go without it. I use it after I double cleanse every night. I struggled with getting cystic acne in my 30s around my jaw line and neck and this completely cleared it and I had tried everything my dermatologist told me to until nothing was working and I tried this! I do think it helps that I use the Silymarin in the am too! LOVE THIS!
