SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense is an advanced solution to help eliminate adult acne while addressing wrinkles, fine lines and uneven skin tone. A combination of 2% dioic acid with alpha and beta hydroxy acids prevent blemishes while diminishing hyperpigmentation and reducing wrinkles and fine lines. This targeted treatment also inhibits excess of sebum production, unclogs pores and helps prevent skin darkening from UV exposure.

- 2% Dioic Acid: naturally derived from vegetables, this ingredient helps reduce excess sebum
- 0.3% LHA (Caproloyl Salicylic Acid): a lipo-hydroxy acid, LHA, evenly exfoliates skin, decongests pores, and refines the skin’s surface

I am in my late fifties and still get blemishes...ugh! However, SkinCeuticals Blemish Age Defense really does work. I swear, after a couple of days using only at night, my chin area clears up without any dryness. I prefer this over Retinol A. I think it has helped my texture as well. Good stuff!

finally a line of products that works for me
I have dealt with acne for over 20 years now and tried everything from OTC items to prescription items. I wouldn't say I have sensitive skin, but some products, especially products with vitamin a derivatives and benzoyl peroxide would give me red skin or just wouldn't work. Since I've found Skinceuticals blemish age defense line, my skin hasn't broken out as much (an occasional cyst-like acne a few times a year). I recommend starting slow with this product (especially if you are doing the 3 step regimen) as it can be a little drying. It is worth the price and lasts quite a while.

I tried different acid treatments and this one is by far the best! I started with Good Genes and Drunk Elephant glycolic treatment but they kept breaking me out....I couldn't understand why the product that suppose to clear up the skin makes everything worse. One day I came across a beauty blog, and turned out that for the acid to work properly it has to have alcohol base in it! Which is exactly what Blemish & Age Defence is. Alcohol as a base sounded kinda scary so I was very cautious this time and stated with a sample. I only used it on my forehead at first, since I was concerned it would dry my skin out. Within a week my forehead bumps were almost gone and the skin looked soooo much better and not dry at all! Now I got the full size bottle. I'm using it at night, still mostly on the forehead and a little bit on the rest of the face and also have the Tidal moisturizer on top (3-5 mins after). It's been a couple months now and I'm super happy with this purchase! I also use it as a spot on treatment if something starting to pop up during the day.
