A combination of 2% dioic acid with alpha and beta hydroxy acids prevent blemishes while diminishing hyperpigmentation and reducing wrinkles and fine lines. This targeted treatment also inhibits excess of sebum production, unclogs pores and helps prevent skin darkening from UV exposure.

Has a slight alcohol smell, and is a little drying. It seems to help with my breakouts and helping to dry up my hormonal pimples. Only need a few drops and it help if your face is wet to spread the product.

THIS PRODUCT! Let me start by saying I have never written a review for any skincare product, but I will sing Skinceuticals' praises from the rooftops. I have been lucky that I never really had an acne phase... until COVID hit and I moved to Colorado. The cold weather and maskne wrecked havoc on my skin and I tried countless products to no avail (for reference, I had mild whiteheads mostly on my forehead and cheeks from mask wearing). After hearing me complain about my acne, my friend recommended this product. Though its pricey, it is worth every single dollar. I saw results in as little as a week and now, writing this after using it twice a day for three weeks alongside the LCA cleanser, I finally have clear skin! Your face will actually glow once you put the serum on and you can actually see your skin tone even out immediately after you apply it. I don't know what Skinceuticals did when they created this product, but I swear it is the closest thing to magic we have.

I have had oily and acne prone skin my entire life. I love the way this works, just be careful you may need to use it every other night, not every night because it will cause peeling. New holygrail

I was initially skeptical about trying this product but I'm so glad I did. My skin is usually so congested but this product helped keep my skin looking clear and soft. I use 3-4 drops every night to keep the breakouts at bay. I've also noticed less "maskne" breakouts since I started using this. Expensive but worth it

I've tried to find cheaper dupes to SkinCeuticals products but Blemish Age Defense is the one product that I continue to purchase from SC because it's so effective. I have plenty of other 1.5% salicylic acid products but I find Blemish Age Defense works faster than all of them. I did go through a treatment of Accutane so my acne is not terrible or widespread but still occasionally get a pimple here and there. For me just dropping a little on a q tip and spot treating is good enough, 9/10 times the next morning the pimple is reduced so much I barely notice or feel it. I only spot treat with this product, it's so powerful I don't see how anyone can use this all over their face or maybe I just have sensitive skin - but it does last a long time since I only need a little so it ends up not being as expensive as purchasing something monthly.
