SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense is an advanced solution to help eliminate adult acne while addressing wrinkles, fine lines and uneven skin tone. A combination of 2% dioic acid with alpha and beta hydroxy acids prevent blemishes while diminishing hyperpigmentation and reducing wrinkles and fine lines. This targeted treatment also inhibits excess of sebum production, unclogs pores and helps prevent skin darkening from UV exposure.
Key Ingredients:
- 2% Dioic Acid: naturally derived from vegetables, this ingredient helps reduce excess sebum
- 0.3% LHA (Caproloyl Salicylic Acid): a lipo-hydroxy acid, LHA, evenly exfoliates skin, decongests pores, and refines the skin’s surface
- 1.5% Salicylic Acid: a beta-hydroxy acid refines pores and helps reduce the formation of acne

Okay friends so I was on Accutane for a year and it worked really well for me, but it made my skin more “normal” in a sense that I would still get a breakout here and there. This serum has helped SO MUCH I literally cannot explain it better than that. And when the occasional small pimple comes to the surface, this gets rid of it in 1-2 days MAX. Lives up to the hype!
I'm in my late 20s and constantly struggle with my oily acne-prone skin. As a healthcare worker I wear a mask about 50 hours a week, and this has caused me to persistently have acne along my jawline and chin. I also have PIH residually from my acne as well. I had heard wonderful things about this serum along with their Vit C serum through influencers and dermatologists that I follow on social media. I initially tried the Silymarin Vit C serum and I love it. I left a review on it, but it brightened my skin and helped with the PIH I had from my acne, however it did not reduce the amount of breakouts I was having. I added Blemish & Age Defense about a month after trying the Vit C serum. It is thicker than the Vit C serum and leaves a slightly tacky finish, but that goes away with the addition of a moisturizer. I did not find it too drying on my skin, but I could see how those with sensitive skin may only want to wear it once a day or every other day to avoid irritation. I put it on twice a day for 2 weeks, and by the end of those two weeks (I actually think day 11 or 12) I did not have any active pimples on my face and my PIH was fading even faster! I since have backed it off to once a day -only at night (or every other night if I am perfectly clear). It has drastically reduced the amount of adult acne I have and the scarring it would leave afterwards. I will continue to repurchase and keep in my skincare routine.
