SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense is an advanced solution to help eliminate adult acne while addressing wrinkles, fine lines and uneven skin tone. A combination of 2% dioic acid with alpha and beta hydroxy acids prevent blemishes while diminishing hyperpigmentation and reducing wrinkles and fine lines. This targeted treatment also inhibits excess of sebum production, unclogs pores and helps prevent skin darkening from UV exposure.
Key Ingredients:
- 2% Dioic Acid: naturally derived from vegetables, this ingredient helps reduce excess sebum
- 0.3% LHA (Caproloyl Salicylic Acid): a lipo-hydroxy acid, LHA, evenly exfoliates skin, decongests pores, and refines the skin’s surface
- 1.5% Salicylic Acid: a beta-hydroxy acid refines pores and helps reduce the formation of acne
- 3.5% Glycolic Acid and 0.5% Citric Acid: these alpha-hydroxy acids work synergistically to smooth skin and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

On the Outs?
I have gone on to repurchase this product multiple times and although its effective the fact that the active is only salicylic acid pains me. Yes this product is effective not effective enough to warrant such cost, with the acid percentages only being 1.5% for Salicylic, 3.5 for Glycolic and .5 for Citric this serum is virtually money down the drain. My acne is persistent and resilient so these low percentage ingredients aren't going to penetrate deep enough to make the cost worth it.

Overall I think this is a great product and will continue to use daily. I use it morning and night and it helps keep oil under control and it’s made my skin tone more even. I did give it 4 stars because I do like other products better. I think the retinol and clay mask are better and make my skin look and feel smoother, but will continue to use the serum in my routine.
