SkinCeuticals' Adult Anti-Acne System reduces oil production and exfoliates the skin, which improves acne and diminishes the look of wrinkles. Designed to alleviate adult acne, these products also correct the signs of damage resulting from blemishes and aging, such as enlarged pores, rough texture and fine lines.
SkinCeuticals' Adult Anti-Acne System includes:
- LHA Cleansing Gel (8 fl. oz.): a potent cleanser with LHA, glycolic acid and salicylic acid , it unclogs pores, smooths irregularities and brightens skin.
- LHA Toner (8 fl. oz.): an exfoliating low-pH toner that efficiently removes excess residue and surface cells to decongest pores.
- Blemish and Age Defense (1 fl. oz.): a targeted, oil-free serum that prevents the formation of acne, minimizes blotchiness and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Key Ingredients:
- LHA: a lipo hydroxy acid, LHA exfoliates the skin, decongests clogged pores, refines the skin’s surface, and has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.
- Glycolic Acid: this alpha hydroxy acid eliminates dead skin cell buildup and improves skin hydration.
- Salicylic Acid: this beta hydroxy acid refines pores and helps reduce acne.
- Dioic Acid: the naturally derived vegetable acid helps reduce sebum.

LHA Cleansing Gel: Apply twice daily, gently massage a small amount into wet face and neck. Rinse thoroughly with water. Follow with LHA Solution.
LHA Toner: Apply twice daily after using LHA Cleansing Gel. Spray a small amount onto cotton ball and smooth over face, neck and chest. Follow with LHA Serum.
Blemish and Age Defense: Clean the skin thoroughly before applying product. Cover the entire affected area with a thin layer in the morning and evening. For optimal results, use as part of the Blemish and Age Program, starting with Cleanser and LHA solution.

Just didn't work for me
I have been battling adult acne for years but it has gotten worse the last two years. I was really hopeful trying out this set. Unfortunately, it dried out my skin and my acne persisted. I would say it even got worse. My blemishes would also turn bright red when I used it and would calm down when I washed the products off the following morning. I'm sure it works wonderful for others but just not me!

I purchased this kit after reading so many stellar reviews, and my esthetician is a huge SkinCeuticals fan. I was SO optimistic and was convinced this would be my fix to the hormonal acne I had been battling for months on my cheeks. I eased into using the system for a little over a month, knowing that I am sensitive to drying out. After about 6 weeks, my cheek breakouts are few and far between and I believe it has helped fade some of the scarring I had, but I now consistently have unexplained inflammation spots around my nose, mouth, and chin, along with a new issue - perioral dermatitis under my nose. I was not the right fit for this system, as I believe it has broken down my skin's natural protective barrier and has shifted my acne from one problem to another. (27, normal but acne-prone skin)

Not good for rosacea
I am 38, light skin with freckles, with mild redness and rosacea and yes some acne. I tried this for a few days and just felt that is was stripping my skin three times over. Even one of these products by itself is very strong- three of them at once was too much for my skin. It was angry and irritated... but not like a "purge" or an allergy. Nothing I could do could restore moisture to my skin. And the acne was not gone. Was too afraid to keep going for fear of making my skin suffer more. Clearly a lot of people have had success with it, but if you have aging skin, fair or rosacea prone skin I would proceed with caution.

Solid skincare kit that will give you results
I've used so many cleansers that I've lost track. This cleanser is amazing. The menthol cools my skin and leaves my skin feeling tight and clean. I also checked it out on skin deep and it has a 2 out of 10 for toxicity. So it's actually a pretty clean cleanser. The toner is great it's just very drying so I don't use it everyday. I rotate with a gentle toner. The blemish and age defender serum is incredible. If you're sensitive use a tiny bit to start because the salicylic acid does heat your face up. I put a drop on my breakout prone areas and it dries them out completely without causing my skin to flake up. I also love it in my T zone before makeup because it works like a primer.
