SkinCeuticals' Adult Anti-Acne System reduces oil production and exfoliates the skin, which improves acne and diminishes the look of wrinkles. Designed to alleviate adult acne, these products also correct the signs of damage resulting from blemishes and aging, such as enlarged pores, rough texture and fine lines.
SkinCeuticals' Adult Anti-Acne System includes:
- LHA Cleansing Gel (8 fl. oz.): a potent cleanser with LHA, glycolic acid and salicylic acid , it unclogs pores, smooths irregularities and brightens skin.
- LHA Toner (8 fl. oz.): an exfoliating low-pH toner that efficiently removes excess residue and surface cells to decongest pores.
- Blemish and Age Defense (1 fl. oz.): a targeted, oil-free serum that prevents the formation of acne, minimizes blotchiness and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Key Ingredients:
- LHA: a lipo hydroxy acid, LHA exfoliates the skin, decongests clogged pores, refines the skin’s surface, and has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.
- Glycolic Acid: this alpha hydroxy acid eliminates dead skin cell buildup and improves skin hydration.

LHA Cleansing Gel: Apply twice daily, gently massage a small amount into wet face and neck. Rinse thoroughly with water. Follow with LHA Solution.
LHA Toner: Apply twice daily after using LHA Cleansing Gel. Spray a small amount onto cotton ball and smooth over face, neck and chest. Follow with LHA Serum.

Regretfully disappointed
I REALLY wanted to fall in love with these products... I am 27 years old. I suffered from terrible acne as a young teenager before going on accutane. Now as an adult my skin has not been terrible, but there is always just one or two pimples on my face. I decided to invest in this set after reading great reviews. I was happy to pay the high price because I was confident that this would give me the glowing skin that I wanted. I have been using this regimen twice per day for four weeks now. It initially cleared my skin up amazingly the first week. And since then I have had cystic pimples showing up on my face. I have never had cystic breakouts like this before. This skincare system has unfortunately left my skin worse off then when I started. Of all three protects the face wash is the one I might consider repurchasing. You can feel it tingle and really deep cleaning your pores as you use it. I was happy with that protect and for that reason I am leaving two stars.

Good system for acne-prone and combination skin
The products can be a little drying (particularly the toner), but are generally very good for treating acne-prone skin and preventing breakouts. I use the cleanser after removing makeup, etc. with some face oil. The cleanser works best for me when I'm in the shower or use a damp warm washcloth to open up my pores prior to use. The serum is great - I've only used it a few times so far, but it's really helped to clear up congested pores (blackheads and otherwise) and has helped to shrink active acne bumps and reduce overall acne and scarring. It seems like consistent use would make significant improvements in skin health.

The best so far!

I bought this kit when my skin started breaking out at 44 with cyst acne. After about 2 months I backed off on the toner and replaced with the skin ceuticals conditioning toner. I use the blemish treatment all over my face 2 to 3 nights a week in between my retina and as a spot treatment.

Skip the Age Defense serum
I'm giving this three stars because most of the price saving comes from the Blemish and Age Defense serum ($90.00). While the two LHA cleansing gels and solutions have been amazing for my skin, I can buy each for $40.00 a piece. The only active ingredient in the Blemish defense is 1.5% salicylic acid, which you can purchase over the counter for less than $10.00 at higher concentrations. It does have glycolic acid, but at concentrations so low the percentage is not even listed (you can by a face was with glycolic acid at 10%). I would recommend buying the cleansing gel and solution separately, and saving your money for a vitamin C serum if you want to use one. Dioic acid can improve skin discoloration and lighten skin, but is untested for acne. It's also unclear if 2% is enough to impact discoloration. My verdict is yes to the gel and cleanser, skip the age defense serum.

Works so Quickly
I have been using this system for a week and it has already cleared up some of my acne and I can tell it will be able to get my skin completely clear. This is WAY faster than any acne system I've ever tried. The only product that can compare is the Drunk Elephant Glycolic Night Serum. My only complaint is that this system is rather strong, so I only use the serum at night so far as I don't want to dry out my skin too much too quickly. But if you can work your way up to using it morning and night I'm sure it would work even better.
