SkinCeuticals' Adult Anti-Acne System reduces oil production and exfoliates the skin, which improves acne and diminishes the look of wrinkles. Designed to alleviate adult acne, these products also correct the signs of damage resulting from blemishes and aging, such as enlarged pores, rough texture and fine lines.
SkinCeuticals' Adult Anti-Acne System includes:
- LHA Cleansing Gel (8 fl. oz.): a potent cleanser with LHA, glycolic acid and salicylic acid , it unclogs pores, smooths irregularities and brightens skin.
- LHA Toner (8 fl. oz.): an exfoliating low-pH toner that efficiently removes excess residue and surface cells to decongest pores.
- Blemish and Age Defense (1 fl. oz.): a targeted, oil-free serum that prevents the formation of acne, minimizes blotchiness and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Key Ingredients:
- LHA: a lipo hydroxy acid, LHA exfoliates the skin, decongests clogged pores, refines the skin’s surface, and has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.
- Glycolic Acid: this alpha hydroxy acid eliminates dead skin cell buildup and improves skin hydration.
- Salicylic Acid: this beta hydroxy acid refines pores and helps reduce acne.

LHA Cleansing Gel: Apply twice daily, gently massage a small amount into wet face and neck. Rinse thoroughly with water. Follow with LHA Solution.
LHA Toner: Apply twice daily after using LHA Cleansing Gel. Spray a small amount onto cotton ball and smooth over face, neck and chest. Follow with LHA Serum.

Clearer looking skin!
My face is super sensitive and has been breaking out more than usual. Purchased the Adult Anti-Acne System and have been using for about 2 weeks. My skin appears to be clearer and brighter. Light burning sensation when I apply the Blemish and Age Defense. LHA Cleansing Gel has an odor but can be tolerated and the packaging leaks. So far, I'm satisfied with the results.

Love the products BUT NOT the new packaging
I love these products but am upset with the recent changes in packaging. The new cleanser leaks just standing up. I must have lost 25% just due to leaking on my bathroom counter. Now I leave it hanging upside down on the rack in my shower. The new cleanser package is also smaller than the original... It's disappointing to see the toner packaging has now changed.

Some results
My acne is predominately hormonal and flares during times of stress and my menstrual cycle. I can't say that using this system has necessarily improved my acne, as I still continuously break out during the aforementioned times, but I will say that my acne heals FASTER. I have always used benzyl peroxide to treat acne and do not feel the salicylic acid is as effective for me. I use this in combination with the SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective Gel as well as the Retinol 1.0 twice a week and, with all these products combined, I have definitely noticed a drastic improvement in hyper-pigmentation and other acne scars. Overall, I would consider purchasing the toner separately but may switch to a more gentle cleanser, as the two combined are very drying. I am also going to switch to the SkinCeuticals C + AHA serum as it seems other reviewers have had more success with that one. These products can be very irritating at first so I also recommend investing in a very hydrating moisturizer and don't be surprised if your skin starts to peel a little (Jojoba or Bio-Oil at night can really help with this). Product scent and texture are relatively unremarkable.

Not for sensitive skin
I use other products from this line, but this face wash and toner are extremely drying and causes significant irritation. I expected some tingling, but after using this the first day my skin was extremely dry. By the third day my skin felt like it was on fire. It was so bad that I couldn't put any other products on my skin because it would burn. I had to put shea butter on my face multiple times a day for several days. I even tried using it 1x a day every other day, and the effect was the same. If you have sensitive skin, I would advice you stay away from this product. I only use the blemish serum now, because I have been using that prior to trying this wash and toner.

I started using this about 6 months ago in the hopes this would keep my acne-prone, normal-to-oily, late 30s complexion more normal and acne free. This set has consistently delivered! I use the entire set at night and just the wash and toner in the AM, foregoing the serum in the morning. I also use the moisturizer for oily skin AM and PM. I seldom have breakouts now and my skin is less oily, super smooth and my pores and blackheads are greatly reduced. Overall clarity is increased. I will continue to repurchase and will try the Phyto Gel, too!
