Replenish Mineral sunscreen

I had been using this product for several years and loved it. Sadly, like many others, it seems the formulation has been changed. It leaves a white residue on my face that will prevent me from using it.

I miss the old forumlation

Replenix made the best sunscreen until they changed the formulation. This one doesn't sink in as well or moisturize like the old one. Also leaves a white residue.

NOT the same product in new packaging

I wore this sunscreen for years. It was a fabulous physical sunscreen for sensitive skin. This new formulation with titanium leaves a terrible white cast. I don't know why they made the change, but it was for the worse.

WARNING: Formula has been changed

This used to be my holy grail sunscreen for my sensitive rosacea prone skin, I've had a standing subscription for it for years. But Replenix has reformulated it as of fall 2021 to include titanium dioxide instead of being a purely zinc oxide sunscreen. The texture is completely different, it no longer spreads easily, leaves white patches, and has a gritty feel. Look at their website and you'll see plenty of disappointed reviews and people questioning why the formula was changed. Look elsewhere for a good mineral sunscreen, this one is now deeply mediocre and highly overpriced for what it is.

Good ingredients but didn't work for me.

I have rosacea/acne prone skin. I only use physical sunscreens to avoid irritation. After reading the ingredients list I was very hopeful about using this sunscreen. Pros: It leaves a very little grayish cast (I have an medium/olive complexion) and it layers well under makeup. Cons: it doesn't spread evenly. It has a "grainy" feeling and it irritated my skin every time I used it.

Doesn't Spread Even

I really wanted to like this as it felt ok on my skin. However, it looked awful. It never sunk in and made it really hard to apply makeup. I'll use it on my body, but not my face.

Overall a fabulous inorganic sunscreen

The good: 1) Even as an untinted zinc oxide sunscreen, this one leaves absolutely no white cast (I'm white and quite pale, though, so take that with a grain of salt- I did, however, hear about the Replenix sunscreens from the Style and Beauty Doctor on Youtube in her series on sunscreen for darker skin tones so this might be a unicorn inorganic sunscreen that's wearable for lots of different skin tones). 2) The texture is really lovely and spreadable. 3) You can use a sh*t-ton of it without getting white cast-y or shiny (on my skin). 4) It has a neutral finish while imparting a slight radiance without being overly matte. 5) The packaging is easy to use and travels well. The not-so-good: 1) I have combo-dry skin and this is somewhat drying on my skin. If I were to wear this in the summer while being outdoors all day, I think it'd be less problematic, but indoors all day during the winter it's not my go-to facial sunscreen because of how drying it feels. It's not as drying as the EltaMD UV Clear but nowhere near as moisturizing as the Murad City Skin (which veers bit too much on the dewy side) or the EltaMD UV Restore (which has a much stronger white cast). 2) It pills pretty badly over other sunscreens and over moisturizer. I've been using this as my everyday neck sunscreen (really on any exposed areas that come into contact with my clothing or hair, since tinted sunscreens tend to transfer pigment onto my clothes and hair) and it's marvelous for that purpose. I'm happy to have this in my arsenal. If you have oily skin, this might be even better for you because of how un-shiny it is.

Favorite - Does not sting eyes!

Years ago an esthetician told me the best anti aging product to use is sunscreen. I've used many and for the past year, this has been my favorite. Yes, it goes on a bit white, but that dissipates. I love this sunscreen for the protection it gives and... it does not sting my eyes! Many products that I have used, after applying, several hours later it seems to trickle down and gets in my eyes. Hate that! This sunscreen have never done that. Sold. It's very thick, but I like that. Does not have a scent either.

Not perfect, but a decent enough SPF 50 option

I could go either way with this sunscreen. It's not terrible, but it's not amazing (I have yet to find the perfect spf!). The formula is a bit thick...so definitely takes a bit to rub in but it's not terrible compared to some others that you REALLY have to rub in. Reapplication isn't the best either ... doesn't layer very well. Glad its fragrance free, but the natural scent isn't the most pleasant. It's pretty expensive for the amount you get...and there is an ever so subtle white cast, but it really isn't that noticeable. I would definitely use this as a face sunscreen because if you use it for your body too it will go FAST. I'm also not sure how this will play with makeup as I haven't tried yet! May provide an update. I also wish I knew that PA level was for the UVA protection level. All that said...Glad to have an SPF 50 option that has some skincare benefits and good "clean" ingredients. I may repurchase as this is one of few decent US available SPF 50 options you can find. It DOES have a matte finish which may not work for super dry skin types but oily and combo skin may enjoy this. Too soon to tell if its causing any new skin issues, but I will say it hasn't caused any redness or irritation. I would probably recommend this product with all of the above in mind!

New favorite everyday sunscreen

Finally! I found a sunscreen that isn't too heavy and doesn't break me out. I was using elta for years but it started clogging my pores. I've gone through a full tube of this and have had no breakouts. Yay! It definitely blocks the sun and have has only a few minor freckles appear. There is still a white cast but it's not nearly as bad as other products but that's why I'm giving in only 4 stars. I also have italian olive skin so I think I'll always have a subtle cast no matter what. Wish the tube came in a bigger size
