PCA Skin BPO 5% Cleanser eliminates acne-causing bacteria without the use of irritating surfactants that can damage and aggravate the skin. Its clarifying formula features a 5% concentration benzoyl peroxide to heal and prevent breakouts. Aloe, cucumber, nettle and chamomile extracts comfort and calm inflammation to leave the complexion looking clear, even and refreshed.
Apply a small amount of cleanser to damp skin with fingertips and massage into a light foaming lather. Wash in a gentle circular motion. Rinse with warm (not hot) water and pat dry. Start with one treatment daily or as directed by a physician.

PERFECT for Acne Prone Skin
So I've been using this as per my dermatologist's recommendation for the past 4 years and I have to say that its the only cleanser that truly keeps my skin under control. My favorite benzoyl peroxide based cleaser
I really recommend this cleanser. I find that a 5% benzoyl peroxide cleanser works best for my skin- 10% is too much, 2.5% too little. I use this only at night. Other 5% cleansers I have used seem to have some lotions in them that makes my skin paradoxically break out a bit. This one does not have that effect.

I was advised by the PCA Skin website to try this cleanser along with their ClearSkin moisturizer, Acne gel, Pigment Gel (w/HQ), and Weightless Protection sunscreen. I used the entire regimen for about 4-5 weeks. It completely dried me out; my skin was totally dehydrated and flared with new breakouts. I was like, "Eh, you watchin' this PCA Skin?"... I emailed them inquiring about my results and they said it was common and advised me to go back to my esthetician. They insisted that purging of the skin was to be expected when starting a new skincare routine. ::Shifty eyes:: This bad tho?! Okay?? By the fifth week I said, nope, no more. Over the following couple of weeks my skin slowly went back to normal. And that cleanser/regimen never to be used again.

I started integrating this cleanser with my Drunk Elephant skincare routine since I wasn't seeing my acne clear up with DE alone. I stopped using Proactiv four months ago (after using for 10 years) because I wanted a more natural acne solution, but have had trouble clearing up my acne ever since. It's probably still too early to know for sure, but I figured integrating BPO back in would help my skin's withdrawal. I like the smell of the product and its overall gentleness, and my skin doesn't feel as tight immediately after cleansing as it did with Proactiv, but I'm still not sure if it's going to take care my acne problem like I need.

Effective But Not A Cleanser
So, the instructions say you should wash your face prior to using this therefore it's not really a cleanser. I use it like treatment that you wash off. I imagine you want to remove all debris and makeup dead skin before using this. I was surprised that it didn't dry out my skin. It's been 2 weeks and I can already see an improvement. So far so good. I think this product would work really well with like a clarisonic or foreo. It smells okay, not medicinal. Creamy texture. You only need a pea size as it spreads well. This should last you a very long time.

Effective! Just what I needed
I've been having problems with acne over the past few years, I suspect caused by hormone changes and possibly because I haven't been good about managing my oily skin. I get a lot of oil around my T-zone and thus, this is where most of my breakouts happen. The cleanser is super gentle and has a pleasant, light scent that's somewhere between fresh and floral. After the first use I noticed an immediate decrease in irritation around my breakouts. After a few more days, the number of breakouts and points of irritation decreased. The formula has a milky, almost lotion texture and does not produce a large amount of foam. I have not found it to be drying, even for areas of my skin that aren't oily.

Searched for 12+ years, and this is the best acne facewash! Better than proactiv!!!
I'm 27 years old, and like most other girls, I've struggled with acne here and there. I had some acne in high school, and still get occasional pimples, and so does my husband. I've seriously not bought any other brand of face wash or acne cream since that day. It is the product I've been searching for since I was a teenager. LIFE CHANGING!!! I recommend using the acne cream as a spot treatment. It's very effective, but not at all harsh on your skin. I am obsessed, and my skin has been amazing since I started using this product. I got my husband converted too :) He uses it everyday, as do I. My only complaint is that the face wash causes my towels to have bleach spots after I'm drying my face. Now I know to use white towels for my face, though.
