Effective, So Proceed With Caution
What can I say - I love all of Paula's Choice products (the one's I've used, which is about 7 products at this point). They are affordable and effective. I use the 2% BHA which is a stellar product, but for one area of my face that has large pores, I decided to take it up a notch with this 8% AHA. I have reactive, red-prone skin to begin with, so the 8% AHA might be a little too much for me. After I apply it, there is a noticeable red area, but it doesn't burn and there is only light tingly initially. The redness does fade within the hour, but I know this is a product I could NOT wear in the daytime (as it says you can) or use twice a day (as it says you can). If you have more tolerant skin, you probably won't see this redness, but light-skinned, reactive skin folks be forewarned! That said, it is definitely helping. But because of this side effect, I will only use it twice, max three times a week, whereas the 2% BHA I can use every night without any side effects. The gel texture absorbs quickly!

Really love the gel
I've used a number of Paulas Choice AHAs and BHAs over the years and the gel is by far the favorite. I like this better than the cream. I can use this during the day underneath makeup or at night before using a heavier occlusive. I have sensitive skin that is prove prone to redness and I'm able to use this about once a week. Have repurchased several times.

Perfect gradual increase!
