GREAT for congested skin
This product convinced me to go to the dermatologist to get a prescription strength retinol product because it worked so well at clearing my skin. I would still be using this if I didn't need something stronger.

THE BEST IN PRICE AND QUALITY
I love this retinol!! I started with the other retinol with the lower percent and updated to this one, and my skin has improved so much! I use retinol to help with my acne, and the anti aging is a plus. This retinol has decreased my break outs, but I also give credit to life style, and diet changes. This retinol is phenomenal! My face keeps getting better and better! This one is one of the best retinols because it also has peptides, and that brings life changing results! Everything about this retinol is great! Even the packaging!

Great Results
I was not expecting much out of this product. I received a sample and tried it out. By the time I finished the sample, I noticed that my skin tone evened out, and my pores were more refined. I also noticed that my dark circles and veins under my eyes were less noticable. Perhaps the product really did stimulate collagen production. I bought the full size bottle and have made this a staple in my skincare regimen.

Super results, little irritation
I love this retinol product- I have used 2 bottles- skin tone is more even, discolorations are lightened, overall great results. I'm able to use nightly, even over the 2% BHA liquid, with no irritation. I will continue to purchase this!

Good Retinol Product - No Irritation
I have been using Retinol products for several years and wanted to increase the strength to a 1% Retinol product. I had previously been using SkinMedica products. I saw a lot of really positive reviews about this Paula's Choice product, so I wanted to give it a try since it was significantly less money than the SkinMedica product. I have been happy with this product so far. I have not had any irritation at all, but my skin was already used to the .5% Retinol product I was previously using. I was expecting to get some skin tingling with this product since I was moving up to a 1% strength, so I'm a little concerned that I am not. It may be because this product does have ingredients that are supposed to minimize irritation. So far, my skin is maintaining the texture improvements I get from Retinol. However, I'm not seeing any reduction in brown spots and discolorations though. So next time, I may try the SkinMedica 1% to see if there is any difference in the performance on my skin.

Pace Yourself with the Product, It Will Work
I followed the directions to begin with 3 times a week, then every other day, then every day. I did each step for one week. By week three my skin stung, and was peeling like a sunburn. After peeling off skin, it did look smoother underneath. I don't consider myself to have sensitive skin, nor have I ever had adverse reactions to over-the-counter treatments, so this may be due to the amount of Retinol in the product. I decided to scale back and alternate 3 times a week and every other day for a few weeks. The irritation subsided (no more peeling, but my skin did sting sometimes). I only used this between my brows for the vertical furrow lines and my crows feet areas. The furrow lines were gone, and the crows feet were minimized. I also had a little brown spot that faded a bit. I think the results are fantastic for something that I only used a few times a week and only at night. It's "unscented" but to me there was a slight chemically smell that disappated rather quickly, and didn't bother me enough to discontinue use (and I'm a bit hypersensitive to smells). It also left a "sheen" on my skin, which is why I didn't wear it during the day. I did feel like I was "wearing" something on my skin, similar feeling to having foundation on. Even with limited use (not every day), I did get good results. If you're not used to clinical strength treatments like myself, try to work up to every other day. You'll still see results.
