Before buying the 1.0, I used the 0.5 retinol. I wanted to up the strength because I was seeing great results after almost finishing the 0.5 tube. The 1.0 is significantly stronger and I have to be extra careful in the sun. Next time, I think I might get the 0.5 again.

I've only been using this product for a month, but seems to be working great! I can only use it a couple times a week, but I live in Florida, and it is really keeping my melasma at bay around my jaw line. My minor wrinkles are starting to look more faded (a big plus!!). I have super sensitive skin and as long as I don't overuse this product, there is no redness or dryness. I also put my moisturizer over the product. Pores are also starting to look smaller and I hope some of my acne scars start to fade soon too!

I've been using this every- other night. It works well. Helps brighten skin. I noticed just some slight peeling in some areas after a week or so. I started using this product about a year ago. It has greatly improved the texture of my skin without causing any redness or irritation. I also use the Obagi face wash which pairs well with it. If you want to try a retinol but you are scared of having an adjustment period - try this product. There is no skin peeling phase or redness phase. Its strong enough to see results but not too strong so you can use it nightly.

My skin went from looking rough and dull to BRIGHT and smooth after only 3 applications! Granted I may be using a little more than the 'pearl' amount directed, but I found that a pearl amount couldn't cover my whole face. Yes, my skin peeled but omg so worth it. Now I need to figure out how long you're supposed to use it for, and how/when/in what order to apply other skincare products. BE careful of the end of the tube - it can break open at the seam. It's a pump not a squeeze tube.
