Obagi Retinol
Use a small amount and use once or twice a week until your skin acclimates. After using product 3 days in a row, I did get some "wind burn" like symptoms to my face but it subsided within a couple of days. I would recommend using once twice a week for a couple of weeks and then move to three times a week working your way up to daily use or every other day. The product is hard to get out of the tube. I had to get a replacement because it literally had a "blow out" at the seams in the bottom of tube. Seems tore immediately replaced the product.

I love this retinol product. I've tried many different brands and many are far too harsh leaving my sensitive skin red and peeling. This is by far the most effective yet gentle retinol product I've used (I've tried many). I let this absorb for at least 5 minutes before adding my night cream. I use 3-4 nights per week and have noticed a difference in the fine lines around my eyes.

This is a great product and lasts a long time.
You don't need to use a whole lot of this retinol, and I get months of use out of it, using it about 5 days a week at bedtime, this retinol serum is light and non drying, and non irritating. I have seen an improvement in my complexion using obagi 1.0 retinol. It does smell like medicine, though.

This is a nice Retinol 1.0. It will not cause irritation and it works well layered under makeup. I've been using if for many months. That said, I learning that it includes some pore-clogging ingredients and, as of late, this is becoming a significant problem for me. I will most likely be looking for an alternative. But, I would definitely suggest others give it a try.

Gentle, Yet Effective with Time
I bought this while in the midst of a terrible cystic acne bout caused by a severe reaction to a product I was curious about, which taught me that testing on your skin only does so much because different parts of your face can react differently or not at all to the same product. I introduced this very slowly, mindful of the irritation and peeling retinol can cause if you immediately use this every day, and in return I found that my skin never reacted badly. This, along with some other products and a lot of patience, eventually caused my cystic acne to disappear, leaving behind a lot of hyper pigmentation on smooth skin. The hyper pigmentation is fading away but will still take a lot of work, and I have to credit a lot of that work to this retinol from Obagi. The formula is gentle and scentless enough, and the airless pump is designed to give you the amount you desire easily. Light doesn't get into the opaque tube, which is good for the product but does make it a little difficult to figure out how much product is left, though even though I'm now using it nightly I think I have enough product for a month or two. As long as you don't go into retinol expecting sudden miracles, I think this one has been a good beginner's brand in overall value before moving on to the strongest Retin-A product, tretinoin.
