Not irritating
For a 1% retinol product it never irritates or drys out my skin because it has emollients added. A good starter version .5% for someone who's never used retinol. I switch on off to stronger retinols like Skinceutical but always feel safe with this product.

A little goes a long way
Love this retinol. I used to use another one from Peter thomas Roth and as much as it made my skin smooth it did not clear up my skin nearly as fast as this product. You really only need to use A pearl size amount all over your face. I apply a little more to a pimple and I kid you not it's like gone the next day. This is a new staple in my skin care routine!

Solid retinol, but not my top choice
This is definitely a solid, effective retinol product, and it is not as irritating as some other 1% products. That said, there are other retinol products at the same percentage that I like better, I think part of it is just that I find this product doesn't spread as nicely/easily as others, and applying feels like a bit of a chore - and packaging a bit finicky. I think there are other equally effective but more cosmetically elegant options out there, but this is definitely effective and gentle.
