Obagi360 Retinol 0.5 is an ideal product to introduce your skin to retinol treatments. A lower concentration of 0.5% retinol boosts cell turnover to minimize acne, fine lines and wrinkles while diminishing hyperpigmentation. Hydrating jojoba oil and shea butter promote firmness and elasticity as vitamins C and E work synergistically to neutralize free radicals.
Once daily in the evening, apply a pearl-size amount to the face and gently smooth until absorbed.

This is my first time using retinol, and so far I'm enjoying it. It hasn't caused me any redness or irritation, but it is giving me a mild case of retinol uglies (breakouts). I'm obsessed with so many Obagi products. I used this retinol along with the 1%. I alternate the two depending on my skin that day. But best retinol ever. A little goes along way, not drying (as long as you don't use too much). It's not sticky, no harsh smell, and works like a charm! I've recommended this to so many friends! They all love it as well!

I thoroughly read reviews on this product before trying and I'm happy I tried this version of retinol for my first time using a retinol product. I have sensitive skin and have learned that it's best to start off slow and not try and force results through what could be a product that isn't right for your skin type. This Obagi360 Retinol 0.5 is very light and I am able to use nightly. After the 5th day, I started to get a little dry so I then took a step back for two days and began light application again. So far, so good and with anything skin related, things take time even though we want instant results. My skin is already pretty even and no real sun damage but I have started to get a few fine lines in my cheeks now in my 40s. I use Obagi's Vitamin C 15% serum during the day and 0.5 retinol at night along with face creams day & night plus Elta MD tinted sunscreen. Obagi has been a go to for me for over 15 yrs and I have a lot of confidence in the quality and results of their products especially if used as directed.

I've only used this product once, so I know this review isn't even remotely helpful in terms of talking about the effects of it; however, I want to write this for anyone who is like me...if you have sensitive skin, purchasing actives can be a serious gamble. A lot of active ingredients, such as vitamin C, retinol, and exfoliating acids can be way too strong and can cause irritation. I bought this on a whim because one of my favorite YouTubers recommended it, but I was very hesitant because this woman admits her skin isn't sensitive, so even though she said she believes this product is gentle enough for sensitive skin, the fact is she doesn't *really* know. I've been trying to find a good retinol for months, as I'm starting to see some signs of aging (age 31), but most of the ones I've tried either irritate my skin or are a consistency I don't like. This one has a nice, lotion-like consistency, so it's easy to spread but also sinks in quickly. It doesn't make my skin itchy or red, and when I woke up this morning, I didn't have any irritation or breakouts. If you're on the search for a good retinol for sensitive skin that's also an effective formulation, give this a try!

Great results, minimal skin sensitivity
I'm in my late 20s with somewhat sensitive skin and started retinol for anti-aging and milia. I started with an RoC product for around 8 weeks that had less than an effective concentration of retinol but helped me acclimate and did improve my skin luminosity. I eased into using this twice per week, then 3x per week, every other day, and now mostly every evening. I occasionally get dryness in the outer corners of my eyes with it in which case I hold off for a day but otherwise have had no other sensitivity issues. I love this product and keep getting compliments on my skin! After 2 months I have noticed improvement in fine lines in my forehead and eye area. I like that it is a pump so that you only dispense the amount you want, and it has a lovely texture. I also like that it is unscented.
