Quality has dropped off incredibly
This sunscreen used to be my holy grail for SPF. The formula changed a year or two ago, and the mattifying aspect was reduced. This was not a huge problem for me, but the most recent formula change resulted in a gritty sandy texture. The matte aspect is COMPLETELY gone now. Only reason I gave 2 stars is because it provides 50 SPF and doesn’t cause me to breakout.

Grainy texture
Worst formulation ever. I thought I got a bad one but then came on here reading the reviews and seems like everyone has the same complaints. It’s grainy feel like putting sand on your face. My eyes burned. Sucks because i was finishing up my Skinmedica sunscreen so didn’t open this one til now and it’s past the 30 days to return this one. Should of stuck with the Skinmedica one. This one is greasy feeling and you can feel it sitting on your skin it doesn’t sink in. Plus with all the grainy texture it’s horrible under makeup. Do yourself a favor and skip this sunscreen a drugstore option is better than this one! So disappointing Obagi

Terrible White Cast
White cast, feels heavy and grainy on the face. This product requires re-formulation. I would not recommend this product for the face under makeup.

Not mattifying and has weird microbial beads
After all the reviews, I genuinely thought I would love this product but for the price...my god it's not worth it. First of all, it's not mattifying at all. Second, it has these bizarre microbial beads??? Why are these in here? It makes it so much more difficult to apply makeup on top and does not leave your skin feeling smooth.

I want to like it but...
I hardly write reviews but compelled to do so with this product. Firstly there's something wrong with the texture. Why is it gritty?!?? I thought it was a fluke the first time and thought that maybe my moisturizer was causing this. The next day I tried it, without my moisturizer and it was still gritty. I applied it on the back of my hands and sure enough it is the product itself and not any of my layered application of serum/moisturizer. Secondly, this product is not mattifying in anyway. Not even subtly. I have very dry skin and it looks oily. I have to use mattifying papers to take down the shine. Once I do that, I then take a makeup brush to dust off the grit. That's a lot of steps for sunblock. Don't even get me started when I reapply! Now the best part of this product is the high percentage of zinc. That's what made me buy it. But now I have to return it. Is it always gritty or do I have a bad batch?

Shiny, gritty, white cast
This is exactly what I was hoping to avoid in a sunscreen. It's shiny, not matte; it has a white cast and does not absorb or blend easily; and it has a greasy, gritty consistency that's unpleasant to use, especially on my face. Using it up on my hands and neck, but will never buy again. Wish I had returned it.

My "hand sunscreen"
I use different sunscreens for each part of my body. This is my "hand sunscreen", and I love it. My hands are fairly wrinkle free, and as someone that drives for long periods of time each day, this is what keeps them that way. Has a bit of a gritty texture and a white cast, but I don't mind because it truly protects my hands.
