Gentle yet effective, unlike others.
I am rating this a 4 because I think it is gentle enough for most people's skin. I was able to use it for 6 months and had no major reactions. However, I have really, TRULY sensitive skin (cannot wear most makeup, even Cetaphil causes redness for me), and although this was more gentle than anything I'd tried so far, I still had some redness. Also, I have a special eye condition that requires me to clean my eyelids when I wash my face. This cleanser irritated my eyes when cleaning along the lashline. I ended up replacing it with a special cleanser specifically for eyelid inflammation. But I think this Obagi cleanser is amazing (after years of trying everything else, and I mean EVERYTHING else, I can say this is my #2 cleanser). If my current cleanser ever becomes unavailable I'll go back to this. I also like the Obagi C serums, which do not irritate at all. However, all the other Obagi products I tried (exfoilating lotions and anti-aging creams caused awful irritation for me. It took my six months to get my skin back from the negative reaction to the Obagi Action lotion).
