Hyperpigmentation is the uneven darkening or spotting on an area of skin caused by the overproduction of a pigment called melanin. It can occur for a number of reasons, including exposure to UV rays, aging, genetics, hormonal changes and even certain medications.
Obagi-C Fx System C-Clarifying Serum features a non-comedogenic and allergy-tested formula packed with antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients to minimize hyperpigmentation. It lightens and brightens your skin while healing free-radical and sun damage without the use of hydroquinone. With regular use, your complexion looks even, youthful and radiant. Bottle should last approximately 8 weeks with regular use.

worth every cent
I used to use the Professional C Serum 20% from Obagi, but have found that this one works MUCH better for my hyperpigmentation. I have medium toned skin which is prone to discoloration at the slightest blemish. This serum is expensive but with consistent morning use (7 drops for face and neck), it has made a world of difference in the appearance of my skin. I keep the bottle in the box to prevent it from oxidizing, not sure if that really matters. Careful when you first open the bottle, you can lose some product if you try to keep the dropper in there. I usually keep the screw top lid and get what I need with the dropper, then replace the lid for the first few uses so I don't lose undue amounts of product. As with all Obagi products (probably all skincare products in general), this stuff works with consistency, patience and time. Use it as recommended. It's worth the cost for me.

My favorite AM serum!
I love the obagi-c line for my morning routine. I have combination, acne-prone, mature skin. This serum has brightened and cleared my skin significantly since I started using it! I apply it after washing my face with the Obagi-c cleanser, which is one of my favorite products ever, and prepping with the obagi-c toner! Highly recommend!

Light weight serum
Obagi is the best line to treat hyperpigmentation. It's results are true and doesn't fade. This serum has arbutin, not hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is strong and gives the skin faster results, but can make the skin sensitive. Arbutin allows for the same result tackling sun spots and has the same true and lasting effect, being a little softer on sensitive skin.
