Clean skin thoroughly before applying this product. Cover the entire affected area with a thin layer one to three times daily. Because excessive drying of the skin may occur, start with one application daily, then gradually increase to two or three times daily if needed. If irritation or sensitivity develops, stop use of both products and ask a doctor.

Too harsh
This product was way too harsh for me. It left my face very flaky and irritated. I might have stuck with it if I were seeing results, but honestly, it didn't seem to be unclogging my pores at all. I don't think my face does well with benzoyl peroxide. I definitely prefer salicylic acid, so if you think your face is the same way maybe avoid this product. I had to give it away.

Great for stubborn acne
Slap this on the big zits and let it soak in at night. Also works well under makeup if applied more conservatively. Like that it exfoliates as well. Kills bacteria and helps get the dead skin off.

Dries out sensitive skin
I had high hopes for this acne treatment because I love other products from La Roche Posay's Effaclar line. I put this on overnight and when I woke up, the entire area that I put the acne treatment on was red and flakey. It dried out and took off the layer of skin that I put it on. It didn't do much for my acne either. I have sensitive skin, though, so it might be reacting with that.

Very effective for cystic acne
This is the most effective product I've found at curbing cystic acne when it's starting to come to the surface. My skin has always reacted better to benzoyl peroxide than salicylic acid The packaging leaves a lot of product towards the end. The plastic is too stiff to push all the product out. I always end of cutting the tube and there is a ton of product remaining, so don't throw it out when you can't squeeze any more, there is still a lot left! I like this because it can be rubbed into the skin (unlike other leave-on overnight applications), and it is mattifying. A little goes a long way, and you don't need to use this for more than a few days at most. This is one I have repurchased for years and is always part of my arsenal now.

Hard to Replace
I've been using this stuff for years and it works. Unfortunately, La Roche-Posay sells in mainland China, which requires animal testing by law. Therefore, they are not a cruelty-free brand. I'll be switching to something else until the brand decides to shape up! Hopefully it won't be forever.
