Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer was created to mimic the appearance of healthy, radiant skin. It can be used as a spot foundation, concealer, all-over foundation, highlighter (choose a shade lighter than your actual skin tone) or mixed with your moisturizer for a tinted moisturizer effect -- the possibilities are endless! Honey and jojoba oil create a soft, dewy finish as well as lend themselves to the formula's silky texture. It may be applied with the fingers, a brush or a sponge (wet or dry) for any desired finish. Apply over The Sensual Skin Primer for a smooth texture, and top with The Gossamer Loose Powder if you prefer a matte look.
SX 01 is a true ivory shade, ideal for fair skin tones.
Apply sparingly (a pin sized amount) with your finger or concealer brush on top of freshly moisturized or primed skin and blend. Apply more as desired.

Disappointed
After reading the reviews on this I thought this was going to be the answer to my problems. Not!!!! I have one sun spot that nothing works to conceal, I have tried everything and nothing works completely. I thought this was going to be it but....no. Also, it is very dark and no amount of mixing it with moisturizer or lighter foundation made it light enough. I do not see anything good about it and if it weren't for the trouble of mailing it back and only getting partial refund, I would have sent it back. Because of Derm Store's return policy I will probably not order again unless I already know the product works for me.

I keep buying bb creams and other foundations but I see myself going right back to using this one, It is so concentrated the coverage is amazing and it is extremely long lasting. I will stock up in other colors to mix them.

FINALLY - the PERFECT foundation
After watching a hundred YouTube videos by gossmakeupartist (if you aren't already a fan, you will be) and seeing him rave about this foundation, I was intrigued and wondered if it could possibly solve my lifetime foundation crisis. It seems I can never find a match for my skintone and either settle for too light of coverage, end up with too heavy of coverage, or just look greasy, cakey, or orange. This product has redeemed my faith in cosmetics. I don't know that I'll ever love another! I watched some tutorials on YouTube as to how to apply it, so what I did was spray my face with MAC fix spray first (very lightly), then i dabbed my finger lightly in the foundation pot and placed little dots of it on the areas I wanted to cover: forehead, nose, under eye, chin, and a little on my lower cheeks. I then used an angled Sigma kabuki brush to blend it in. I followed with a light dusting of MUFE HD translucent powder, then used my Bobbi Brown color corrector using my Beauty Blender sponge for under eye, added more setting powder, and then proceeded to finish with contouring, blush, and eyes. I LOVE the finished look. I'm coming back now to order another in a darker shade for contouring and possibly one shade lighter for highlighting. I'm in love and my search for the perfect foundation is finally over. Thanks, Kevyn - but thanks even more to gossmakeupartist (Wayne Goss) for his tremendous devotion and passion for educating regular people about makeup and teaching us what's possible. Without his videos I'd have never known about this product. If it helps, I'm a NC25 in MAC Studio Tech and bought 02 in this product. It's a little light, but I like that because i contour. This beats MAC around the block and back. PS - Have acne? Check out the Glytone product line here on Dermstore. Amazing.

This foundation is my new favorite! It is rich and pigmented and if applied correctly it truly lives up to its name "sensual skin enhancer." I apply just a little over top of my Lancôme silicone based primer. It applies nicely with a little primer or moisturizer and I only have to dab a small amount out of the container and dot it over my face for a thin wash of coloring that blends in nicely and look like my skin. Then I use it to conceal a couple areas of hyper pigmentation. Both a foundation and concealer in one. This product is genius!

Pros: incredible coverage, highly pigmented, creamy texture, blends well, leaves a flawless finish to face; versatile - product can be used as foundation, concealer and tinted moisturizer. Cons: Seems pricey for amount you get (until you realize how little you need to use); learning curve with application; more time consuming to apply than standard cream/liquid foundations. I'd advise anyone interested in this product to watch Youtube videos and read blog reviews of it before trying. I can see how someone who orders this and uses it as a standard foundation might be disappointed in the product. The reviews that say you only need a speck of product to cover your entire face are TRUE. This little pot would last me well over a year. I have nice texture to my skin and just small areas of hyperpigmentation that need covering. If you need heavier coverage then you might use the product more quickly, but it should easily last over 6-8 months. I experimented with application. Don't apply product to dry, unmoisturized or unprimed skin. It won't budge. I tried using a damp flocked sponge to stipple and roll product onto my skin. It worked well, but I can see why people recommend the Beauty Blender sponge to apply product. It's harder to roll a flat sponge and more time consuming.

Best Concealer Ever!!!
I bought this product based on a review I saw on youtube. I was intrigued enouch to try it and I'm glad that I did. SX13 dosen't exactly match my skin tone and SX14 is too dark. But the SX13 is the best as an under eye concealer and highlighter and a little goes a long way. The little pot it comes in will last me forever so for the price point its worth it. I may at some point get SX14 and mix the two to find my right shade because I have no doubt it will make a great foundation

Its a great product! Small pot but you'll get a lot of product. Save money. Very nice on skin especially if you find the right shade for you. Its really a sensual skin enhancer because my skin looks good when applied. Best applied with damp beauty blender sponge. A little goes a long way.

I've been reading about this foundation for ages, kept putting off on buying it because there really are some mixed reviews out there. Some people had pointed out that it can look caky or thick... some had trouble with application, and I just kept thinking that if I don't love my more expensive foundations (La Prairie, Chantacaille, some other luxury brands -- I've tried them ALL), then I wouldn't love this. I couldn't have been more wrong! The key to using this, is applying the tiniest amount of it onto the skin -- it really melts right in if you just take a few minutes to work it on. My skin looks absolutely flawless for hours on end, and it actually controls oil slicks, which is incredible as I'd given up on a product that would do this for me! Only thing I'd caution against, is if you have dry patches, this will accentuate them. I like to exfoliate several times weekly, so my skin is smooth for makeup application... this stuff truly does look like second skin. Amazing!

This concealer is amazing! Comes in a large variety of shades, covers anything, and gives a beautiful natural finish. I love using it as a concealer. Even if you want to use it as an all-over foundation, you need a bit no bigger than a grain of rice. It is HG for me!
