jane iredale's Smooth Affair® Brightening Face Primer (formerly known as "Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener") refines and prepares the skin for a long-lasting foundation application. It camouflages pores, fine lines and wrinkles, leaving your skin with a more luminous-looking glow. Algae extract firms, while olive leaf extract promotes skin regeneration.
With fingertips, spread evenly until primer has been absorbed. Use with or without your favorite moisturizer. Use Smooth Affair as a primer before your makeup application and after you wash your face at night for healthy, radiant, moisturized skin.

Oily As The Day Goes On
I usually use BareMinerals but heard good things about Jane Iredale and thought that I'd give it a try. I have combination skin and usually wear my makeup all day and notice that in the evening that my face is feeling a little oily but it's not very noticeable. Using this product, my face looks oily after wearing it for about 4 hours and by the time I get home it's very noticeable and I have to wash my face and reapply my makeup. Not something that I would purchase again.

Makes foundation work better
This stuff does work. It keeps my foundation in place all day. I use it daily. With some foundation I mix it before putting it on, otherwise, I just put it on under the foundation.

Go-to primer
When I want something glow, but know I won't be sweating all day- this is my go to daily primer. There are definitely more heavy duty, glue to your face primers out there- but I try to avoid using those unless I need to. I feel like Smooth Affair lets my skin breathe, and gives me a subtle glow without being greasy. I'd recommend this one.

this primer is really great. i received it as a gift, and although i use a matte foundation over it, it does give the overall finish more of a satin feel. i've noticed more longevity using this prior to foundation.
