jane iredale's Smooth Affair® Brightening Face Primer (formerly known as "Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener") refines and prepares the skin for a long-lasting foundation application. It camouflages pores, fine lines and wrinkles, leaving your skin with a more luminous-looking glow. Algae extract firms, while olive leaf extract promotes skin regeneration.
With fingertips, spread evenly until primer has been absorbed. Use with or without your favorite moisturizer. Use Smooth Affair as a primer before your makeup application and after you wash your face at night for healthy, radiant, moisturized skin.

Best Moisturizing Primer
Jane Iredale nailed it. This primer smells so refreshing and is extremely moisturizing (but never oily). It blends very well with tinted sunscreen (for lighter coverage days) and is the only primer I will use with my Kjaer Weis foundation because it is so hydrating and allows a smooth finish all day (without drying out).

this untinted primer feels more like a moisturizer. it feels silky and is hydrating. it leaves a bit of a shine on your face and has a very light citrusy scent.

Great primer in cold weather, not so much in humidity
I received this primer at the start of a few weeks of fabulous cool weather here in South Florida. I really liked it at first. It does need a few minutes to sit on your skin before you apply foundation, but I found that if I applied the primer first, then did my eye makeup, then moved onto foundation it did the trick. Unfortunately the last couple days the heat and humidity have been creeping back up and Smooth Affair is not performing as well under these conditions. My face is getting shiny after a couple hours and I notice that by around 3:00 the texture of my makeup looks different (for the worse). If you live somewhere with less humidity/real seasons/cold weather I think Smooth Affair is probably a great option for a fall/winter primer. As far as price is concerned, at first I thought this was a bit expensive, but now that I realize how much product you get for $50, I actually think it's a good value. All in all, I prefer Benefit's The Porefessional (which I had been using previously), so I'll probably be returning to that. For reference - I'm 27 years old with combination, olive/medium toned skin.
