best mineral powder
Great Mineral powder! I found a color that matches my skin perfect. I have another powder that is a bit warmer and I mix them when I get sun. It's easy to build without looking like it's caked on and it's also matte which is nice. Once applied, I spritz with Avene or another hydration water and then pat with sponge or a Kleenex to set in place before applying more make-up. It lasts all day and is easy to touch up. Love this powder!

A base pale enough for skin that never sees the sun!
This is a highly specialized niche, but the Ivory shade is just about right for my paler-than-pale skin, without killing my pink undertones or irritating my highly insult-resentful sensitive skin. I'm naturally very pale, plus having been housebound for some years, so I can say with authority: this is the old-fashioned pressed base to get for a loved one in the hospital! The coverage is both light and pretty good — and, interestingly, gets better after the first 15-29 minutes or so. That’s important to know, as at first, blemishes remain fairly prominent. It’s quite effective at masking ambient redness, but for dark reds or particularly irritated skin, you might want to begin with a concealer. That being said, I would advise going into using this makeup being aware of all of the extras the good folks at Jane Airedale expect customers to buy in order to use it. 1. A compact, which does not come with a starter base. 2. A brush. You probably already have one, but is it sized to carry around in your purse? 3. A setting spray — not a skipable step, alas. 4. A concealer, maybe. (In my younger, more acne-phobic years, I would definitely have used one.) 5. A loose matte powder. I generally expect foundations to control shine at least a little, but this doesn’t much. That’s quite a lot to tote around in your purse. The system does make for a pretty face, though!
