jane iredale Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara amplifies the look of lashes with added length and volume. The rich formula is infused with seaweed lipids to condition and protect against breakage. Features an over-sized brush to help separate and define lashes without the clumps.
Black Ice is a rich black shade.
Apply a layer of our PureLash Extender and Conditioner first. You'll be amazed how it thickens your lashes. It also means that you'll use less mascara. Allow to dry until tacky and then apply your favorite formula of mascara. Be sure to rock the mascara wand at the base of your lashes first. This is where you want the most product, then brush out to the tips. If you are going to layer mascara, don't wait for each application to dry. This is what makes lashes stick together. Don't pump brushes. This will force air into the tube and help to dry out the product. Simply twist the brush in the tube to pick up more product. Brown or grey can look softer around the eyes than black. Too much mascara can be aging.

Another Bites the Dust...
I was very curious to try this mascara in Black Ice. Here' s basic breakdown from my perspective, but as always, if you love this products that's awesome! Pros: Packaging is pretty neat-not sure how it compares to the standard mascara tube? Nice, full teddy bear design. Cons: Flakes Quick drying formula (might be related to "flaking") Did not lengthen or thicken my lashes which are pretty average Fibers (I can see them on the wand and they fall into my eyes)-not a fan:( So, would not purchase even though it is cruelty free and I love JI products on the whole.

Not a fan :-(
My number one requirement for mascara is NO FLAKING. I have tried soooo many products but have never found one that I continue to love. This mascara is much like many others I've tried, and I won't buy it again. It flakes more than many I have tried as well. The flakes remind me of Younique flakes, but it doesn't lengthen nearly as well.

Good Safe Product
I do like this mascara. It has a good rating on the EWG site and it does coat the lashes well. The formula is dry compared to every mascara I have ever used; however, it does coat and wear well. Very little clean up right after applying then no flaking or need to clean debris for the rest of the day.

A Great Mascara
I really really like this mascara. I have read that some people feel you need to apply many layers to get a desired effect but two applications is all I need. It is very natural looking but still gives good definition to my eyelashes. It goes on evenly and does not "glob". It keeps the lashes nicely separated where other mascaras (and I have tried tons)can not only leave "globs" but can make adjoining lashes stick together...not a good look and what a pain to fix. Finally, it comes off easily and I have lost fewer lashes as a result, which is critical. A great great mascara. Also it may seem more expensive but there is a ton of it and I think value-wise it is a better deal than your drugstore brands.

Love the Concept, But . . .
I really love the fact that the product is stored in a soft-side tube, rather than the typical round container; however, the product seems a bit dry. I can definitely tell that I am wearing mascara, but I don't know that "thickening and lengthening" are qualities that I would ascribe to the product.

Nice but thin consistency
This product is a nice idea but I am not sure of its effectiveness. The mascara goes on thin and takes longer than most to dry. I find that I have to use several coats to build up the product on my lashes, which takes awhile since I have to wait between coats for it to dry a little. It tends to be flaky after a few hours as well. I gave this product a fair shot because I like Jane Iredale's line and because I wanted to give it some time to increase lash density or growth. In the 4 months that I used the mascara, I didn't see a measureable increase in lash thickness or length but I did get plenty of small black flakes under the eyes. Perhaps it is better for lash maintenance rather than growth.

Lengthening Mascara that is gentle.
