Begin with dry hair and select the desired temperature. Section hair ear-to-ear and secure the top half out of the way. Next, divide the bottom half into 1-2” sections to begin styling. Secure the ends of one section in the clamp and roll upwards, wrapping the hair evenly around the barrel. Hold for a few seconds then release the clamp. Repeat for the remaining bottom sections. After the bottom half is curled, take down the top portion and curl accordingly.

It doesn't work for me
I like that it heats up fast and the mint color is pretty, but.. i don't know what is wrong, the curls don't stay as long. I have curled my hair a few times to play with the heat setting. At 375, at the normal time I curl them for, the curls just go lifeless within the hour. At 400, it stays a few hours longer but then just flatten out. I'm so disappointed! I notice the clamp doesnt clamp well. Maybe that's the issue? I am afraid to go to 425 for fear it will burn my hair. What is the safest heat to use? I have long, straight hair, my hair steands are not fine like blondes. My old curling iron that's over 20 years old gives better curls and they stay all day long, even when it's humid. I never have to use sprays or mousse or any products when I curl my hair and so I am not about to start now. I regret that I have to return it.

This curling iron works well. It gets pretty hot and is small and compact, perfect for travel. The main issue I have is that it doesn't clamp very tight in the hair. Hopefully the manufacturer changes this.

Now I need a 1" travel size
I love this travel size curling iron and use it at home as well as while traveling. I wear my hair fairly short, and so I find its short length much easier to handle than a full length curling iron. Grateful is the best word I can think of that this compact curling iron crossed my path. Perfect Travel Iron
I purchased this Harry Josh 1.25 inch iron because I was looking for something that would give me great curls, but that would be safe on my hair as I thought my old one was causing breakage. That being said, this is an awesome iron for travel as well, as it is smaller and lightweight. I'm very happy with this iron, it may be smaller but it works well for my chin length bob hairstyle to give me loose curls and bends. It glides through my hair and I can get the same amount of curl on a lower heat setting. Glad I purchased it.
