Best Mineral Foundation for Normal/Dry skin
My needs: I like a foundation with a second skin finish which covers enough to even out skin tone and lasts throughout the day without touch ups. Color match is very important as well. In general, I have always preferred the look of liquid foundations but like the quick application of powders and the fact that powders don't absorb into the skin (ingredient/natural product freak here). This foundation beats both liquids and other mineral powders I've tried. Price is not that important to me as long as a product performs. Me: Normal skin, a few blemish spots/clogged pores, NC44 east Indian Performance: This is the best powder foundation I have tried and it is not dry like most powder foundations. For comparison I have tried Everyday Minerals, Jane Iredale and Urban Decay (see why I didn't try more under the Ingredients section of this review). Also beats my HG liquid Lancome Teint Miracle, Bisque 9N. I usually prefer the look of liquids but compared side by side this looks more natural and hides pores better. This foundation has light coverage with one coat and medium coverage with two coats (enough to cover my spots). It looks a bit matte at first, but after a few minutes it settles in and looks like skin. Honey Dark is perfect for my summer NC44 east Indian skin. I was hesitant at first to try this because, if you purchase from Glominerals directly, they do not allow returns on products that are open, which to me says they don't stand by their product. However, I purchased from DermStore which has a fair return policy. Anyway, I will not be returning and would repurchase. Ingredients: Different from other powder foundations, none drying. If you look at the ingredients, many are emollient. I've done extensive research and reviewed the ingredient list of countless other powder foundations, and this is the only one I have found that contains emollient rather than drying ingredients. Glominerals advertises pharmaceutical grade ingredients and it is sold at some spas and by some dermatologists. However, looking at the ingredient list it doesn't look extremely "pure." I can't pronounce many of the ingredients and don't recognize many of them, not straight from the earth for sure. However, I googled each ingredient and I could not find anything bad about any of them. If all ingredients came straight from the earth, this would by my HG.
