Eminence Organic Skincare's Sun Defense Minerals provide a weightless veil of water-resistant SPF 30 sun protection. The finely milled mineral powder works two-fold to shield your complexion from UV rays and simultaneously absorb excess oil for a smooth, matte finish. Vitamins A and E prevent premature aging and free radical damage.

For initial application, pump brush three times to release the minerals and tap brush once or twice to evenly distribute the minerals. Once set-up, there is no need to pump the brush again as doing so will clog the brush. Sweep the brush with gentle semi-circular strokes over skin and apply a thin layer of minerals, continue for more opaque coverage. For best results, apply after your moisturizer has completely absorbed into the skin.

Not my favorite
I usually love all eminence products but this one was a miss for me. I think I'm sensitive to something in the product because I would break out anytime I used it. I have pretty sensitive skin and makeup is really hard for me to find so I think this product just wasn't for me, but I would encourage others to try for themselves!

Best SPF I've used
This mineral powder has done the best job of sun protection that I have played around with and it also provides nice coverage and smells good. I cheat and dump it out into a jar, so I can use a brush to apply it as needed vs. using the built-in applicator. Also deep a tube on hand for travel.

Applicator was hard to use
I found the applicator to be difficult to use, despite following the instructions and considering feedback provided in other reviews (don't press button too much, don't expect to see all the powder, etc.) I decided to pour out the powder into a container and try applying with my favorite powder brush, but I didn't like the powder itself because it was a little too thick (I know that's somewhat important for a powder to block the sun). I found a similar product by ILIA which comes in a loose powder container and I like it much better than this one.

Terrible Applicator
This is the worst applicator of any product I have ever encountered. It is almost impossible to get the product out. The instructions say to press the button 3 times to get it started, then to never press the button again or it will clog. Well, it clogs anyway. Then you are apparently supposed to bang it against a hard surface with the bristles pointed up, somehow without pressing the button on the end again (this is all in the instructions that come with it). Then it tells you to turn it the other way up and shake it. After all this I could get a little of the product out, and then the brush left hairs all over my face. I returned it. If they redesign the applicator I might try it again because what little of the product I was able to get out seemed pretty good.

I wanted to like this
I'm an Eminence junkie so when I saw this at Antoine du Chez in Denver, I had to have it. I actually use the Calendula Spice shade (#4 i think). Pros: gives great coverage, beautiful packaging, makes me feel like a rich, old, wrinkly white woman. Cons: the bristles shed. It smells like an old sock. And it makes me break out! To be fair, I have SUPER sensitive skin (I can only use the Calm Skin collection from Eminence, literally everything else breaks me out).
